"Tonight, Chelsea will go to the airport to return to the US to continue her work. She is working as an engineer for a project there. Once everything is done, she will soon return to Vietnam to join the club in the AFC Champions League for women (in May - PV)," Mr. Lam Le, Chelsea Le's father, shared with Tri Thuc Znews on the afternoon of April 3.

On the same afternoon, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club defeated Vietnam Coal and Minerals (TKSVN) with a score of 5-0 in the semi-finals of the 2025 Women's National Cup. Chelsea Le scored the opening goal after an assist from Huynh Nhu.

Before Chelsea Le, Ashley Tonthat Tram Anh also had to fly back to the US in the middle of the tournament to take her university graduation exam. Having to say goodbye to two overseas Vietnamese players will be a big loss for the HCMC Women's Club before the final match on April 6.

"My biggest priority right now is still playing football. I want to be a player first. When the time is right, I will become an engineer," Chelsea Le told Tri Thuc - Znews .

Chelsea Le was born in 2001 and graduated with a degree in Water Treatment from Gonzaga University. She is also a player for Gonzaga University's West Coast Conference soccer team. She was named Midfielder of the Year (2024).

In the 2025 Women's National Cup, Chelsea Le and Ashley Tram Anh continuously played for the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club before returning home. Chelsea played as a striker, scoring 2 goals, 1 in the group stage and 1 in the semi-finals. Ashley played as a central midfielder. Even though they left the team, these two players will still have medals (at least runner-up) in the Women's National Cup.

Both overseas Vietnamese players are a source of quality strength for the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club, helping the team nurture hopes of reaching the final of the 2024/25 AFC Champions League Women's and making history for Vietnamese football.
