At the same time, additional guidance on the principles of determining the combination of subjects for admission is provided. This is a point that needs clearer guidance.

Expanding the number of combinations does not mean giving schools freedom to come up with combinations to recruit.

The expansion is to give schools the opportunity to recruit the most suitable candidates for their training fields.

According to the new general education program, the basic principle is that if students do not study any subjects in the general education program, they will definitely not get points for these subjects.

If students do not study the subjects that are basic requirements in the university program, schools will not be allowed to recruit them. If schools provide inappropriate subject combinations for admission, it will affect the quality of training, recruitment and damage the reputation of the school.

"Especially the instructions on the conversion method, this is done based on scientific grounds, to create fairness as well as to select the best candidates. There is no way that each school will arbitrarily introduce something that is not suitable for this framework.

The specific parameters and final formula will be given after the high school graduation exam results are available," said Mr. Son.

For the Departments of Education and Training, Mr. Son suggested that it is necessary to step up propaganda to clearly explain information related to the subject combinations for admission, the purpose of expanding the subject combinations as well as the methods related to score conversion... so that teachers and students can feel secure with the innovations of the ministry this year.

According to the 2025 enrollment plan just announced by the Ministry, candidates will officially register and adjust their admission wishes from July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28. The Ministry will announce the input quality assurance threshold for teacher training and health sectors on July 21.

From August 13 to 5:00 p.m. on August 20, processing of admission wishes. Universities upload data, admission information, and organize admissions. Complete notification of first round of admitted candidates from 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
