The group receiving the title of People's Artist includes names such as: Xuan Bac, Thanh Lam, singer couple Tan Minh - Thu Huyen, actress My Uyen. Being awarded the title at a young age, many people said that the recognition from the State gave them confidence to continue to contribute.
Actor Xuan Bac, 48 years old, said: "I feel the pressure, the weight, a new journey is beginning, making me wonder what to do to be worthy. The title is very necessary but not the final destination of those who do the profession honestly. It is an encouragement, motivating artists to create works of true - good - beautiful values". He said he was proud, especially to his sons - who are always proud of their father's work.

Singer Thanh Lam, 55 years old, said: "For me, whether I have a title or not, I will still steadfastly follow my path, dedicating myself to music. Today's degree is both a pressure and a motivation for me to cultivate, practice, and contribute to the community."
Tan Minh, 52 years old, thanked his wife for always respecting, trusting and encouraging him in both life and career. "We never thought we would receive the title one day. For my family, the joy is doubled, more complete," he said.
Artist My Uyen - from Ho Chi Minh City, currently filming in Hanoi, expressed her joy: "I don't dare use the word dedication, but I will definitely devote myself and contribute my best for the rest of my life."
Among the group of artists receiving the title of Merit, actress Oc Thanh Van said: "I have been to the Hanoi Opera House before but today's feeling is different, happy and nervous. When meeting many talented colleagues, I feel so small. I think this is an honor I will only have once in my life. Holding the certificate of merit in my hand, I remember the efforts I made in my career throughout my youth, feeling that everything is worth it." Oc Thanh Van said that she rarely acts in films or plays but is ready to take on any suitable stage role.
Among the artists from the South who came to Hanoi to receive the title this time, comedian Bao Tri arrived a day before the ceremony and was taken to West Lake by many colleagues. Meeting and chatting with friends about his career, he added that he loves his job and is inspired to strive.

Artists at the "old age" said they were happy to be honored when they were on the other side of the slope. Artist Minh Phuc is proud to be the third person in her family to have the title, after her husband - Meritorious Artist Tu Lam and son - People's Artist Tu Long. At the age of 75, she suffered from cancer, underwent two surgeries, 11 chemotherapy sessions, but kept an optimistic spirit and loved to sing. After many years working at the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Troupe, she retired and still participated in several clubs. She emotionally said: "Receiving the certificate of merit, I have no regrets. I have fulfilled my duty as a student to the artists who came before me."

Actress Le Mai, 86 years old, came to the ceremony with her daughter Le Khanh. She was moved to meet many old friends such as Thanh Tu and Kim Xuyen. She and actress Kim Xuyen were specially awarded Meritorious Artist status under the new regulations, although they did not have enough medals as required. She was happy to be honored with her old friends in their old age.
Actor Duc Trung, 85 years old, said: "For more than 60 years in the arts, I only know how to contribute and contribute. I want to tell young people, just work hard, the results will come." He is still participating in a number of stage human resource training projects. After the film Huong Duong Nguoc Nang (2021), the artist is waiting for a suitable new role. On this occasion, his son - actor Le Anh Tuan - was also awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.
Actor Tran Duc, 70, is proud that after transferring from the Hanoi Drama Theater to the Hanoi College of Arts, he was awarded the title of People's Artist. "I am both an artist and a teacher, the certificate recognizes both my acting career and my training of the next generation. Until now, I still try to stay healthy to act in films and plays," said Tran Duc.

The ceremony was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, presenting the title to 125 People's Artists and 264 Meritorious Artists. At the event, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed: "People's Artists and Meritorious Artists are truly valuable assets of the country. Regardless of their age or ethnicity, they have all made valuable contributions to Vietnamese culture, contributing significantly to the great achievements of historical significance of the country."
People's Artist is the highest title awarded by the State to individuals working in the field of culture and art. The State has organized review rounds in 1984, 1988, 1993, 1997, 2001, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019. People awarded the title of People's Artist must have at least 20 years of experience, be awarded at least two gold prizes or one gold prize and two silver prizes at national, regional or international art festivals and performances and Central Literature and Art Associations since being awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.
