Of the total 189,243 houses mentioned above, 18,024 are housing support for people with revolutionary contributions; 64,900 are housing support under the two national target programs and 106,319 are housing support under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Thus, from March 29 to April 4, the whole country increased by about 21,000 houses (completed and newly built); on average, each locality supported 48 houses/day.
Regarding the 13 provinces of the Mekong Delta, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions said that, according to local reports, these provinces have supported the elimination of 40,128 temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 16,856 houses were inaugurated and 23,272 new houses were started.
Also according to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, currently 6 more localities have decided to complete the Provincial Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, namely Lang Son, Hau Giang, Binh Phuoc, Ben Tre, Son La, and Dong Nai.
Recently, the Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, Deputy Head and Standing Member of the Steering Committee, met with leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committees of the three provinces of Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An to urge the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions issued an official dispatch urging the two corporations to transfer funds to support five localities in implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses.
Implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" launched by the Prime Minister, recently, from the Central to local levels across the country, all have been highly determined and made great efforts to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025.
Recently, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with Bac Lieu province to organize a house donation ceremony, handing over more than 42 billion VND in funding to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for households with housing difficulties in Bac Lieu province.
From March 2 to April 3, Dak Lak Provincial Police started construction of 1,886 out of 4,285 houses (44%), completed and handed over 36 houses to people, and strived to complete 4,285 houses before August 15, all to create conditions for people to live stably according to the "heart's command". Funding from the source assigned by the Central Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses nationwide, funding from the source of 5% savings on regular expenditures in 2024 and mobilization in the area.
In Quang Tri, Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai emphasized that one of the key tasks in the coming time is to speed up the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households and families with revolutionary contributions, striving to complete before June 30, two months ahead of schedule.
Currently, the province's financial resources are ready, so localities need to urgently deploy to speed up progress, exceeding the plan. District leaders and specialized departments must be more proactive and active in building and repairing houses for people; ensuring the completion of temporary housing before the time when the district government is not organized.
In Hue, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that supporting housing for people with revolutionary contributions and eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households is a particularly important political task with profound humanitarian significance. Currently, local authorities are urgently reviewing and reviewing to proactively support the repair of houses in difficult circumstances that are not on the list of temporary house elimination, to avoid further occurrences; and developing detailed plans to implement programs and projects to soon complete the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people.
The People's Committee of Hue City has issued a plan and strives to complete the task of supporting housing for people with meritorious services by 2025; supporting housing for people under the National Target Programs and eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people outside the above two support groups. The support level for building new houses is 60 million VND/household, and for repairing houses is 30 million VND/household.
