The actress lives a private life, rarely appearing in public. There are reports that she is gradually being removed from the list of “ugly artists”, but continues to face bad news about her assets.

Both were arrested by the China Securities Regulatory Commission and banned from the stock market for five years, and each was fined 300,000 yuan ($41,440).

Zhao Wei's life after nearly three years of being "banned"
So far, the authorities have not given any explanation for the ban on the Hoan Chau Cach Cach star. The audience can only get a brief idea of Trieu Vy's current situation through her personal Instagram.
Many false rumors about Zhao Wei spread on social media at the beginning of the year, even rumors that she committed suicide. Soon after, some netizens posted two recent photos of Zhao Wei on Weibo, sharing: "Zhao Wei, long time no see, in Harbin." In one photo, Zhao Wei is wearing a thick coat standing in the snow. In the other photo, she is smiling, holding an ice cream and a candy apple in her hand.

On her 47th birthday, Zhao Wei sent a message to her fans through a recording. This is the first time she interacted with fans since being restricted from activities in China.
"Hello everyone, it's me. Although it's my birthday, I think it's just like any other day. Thank you for remembering my birthday and not leaving. I've received your congratulations. Every day that passes is a good day. I hope you live happily, healthy, and love everyone," the actress shared.
Signs that Zhao Wei is gradually escaping the blacklist
Since August 2021, Zhao Wei has been blacklisted and removed from all Chinese media platforms. All artists who knew her quickly deleted the related posts, and the country's media also predicted that she would "lose her reputation".
However, in March, sharp-eyed netizens were surprised to discover that “Little Swallow’s” Weibo account had been unblocked and was accessible online, and that previously blocked videos on Bilibili and other video sites had returned to normal. Media sources in Hong Kong (China) said that she might return in June this year.
One day after Zhao Wei's works were removed, the People's Daily published an article: "Once you touch the red line of law and morality, your acting career will hit rock bottom." Although the article did not mention her name, the audience could still guess that the artist being targeted was Zhao Wei, and concluded that her "crime" might not be simple.
The work Little Life (formerly known as School District Room) starring Zhao Wei and Qin Hao, aired in 2023, replaced Zhao Wei's face with Jiang Xin's, through AI technology. In the film, Zhao Wei plays the role of He Chunru, a woman who unexpectedly becomes pregnant and faces many pressures in life. The incident caused controversy when in some camera angles, Zhao Wei's figure was still visible. The work's performance was also quite dismal.
There are many different opinions about the main reason why Zhao Wei was suddenly banned from broadcasting. Previously, Fan Bingbing was banned in China for tax evasion, however, opinions say: "Zhao Wei's case may be bigger than Fan Bingbing's".
The Epochtimes reported that Zhao Wei’s team has contacted several editors of Chinese fashion magazines. If she can successfully appear on the cover, she will officially return.
