911 is an international band that has made many hearts of the 8x and 9x generations flutter with many legendary hits such as: How Do You Want Me To Love You, A Little Bit More, Don't Make Me Wait,... and most especially I Do.

This pop band originated from the United Kingdom with 3 members: Simon "Spike" Dawbarn, Lee Brennan and Jimmy Constable. They formed the band in 1995 in London and the band disbanded in 2000.

In early 2023, the Vietnamese online community was abuzz when this once-popular band collaborated with male singer Duc Phuc to release the Valentine version of the MV Em dong y (I do). After only 3 days of release, the MV reached more than 6 million views on the YouTube platform and quickly took the Top 1 Trending position.

911 will come to Vietnam and perform 2 nights in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City at the UK festival next September.

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UK and Vietnam.

The British Embassy in Hanoi and the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City have been organizing a series of activities under the theme "UK and Vietnam: Building the Future Together", focusing on three main areas: Education, Trade and Sustainable Development.

One of the key activities is the UK Festival series in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. The Festival will be a place to introduce UK culture, UK products and trade expertise, and celebrate the best cooperation between the UK and Vietnam over the past 5 decades.

Music night in Hanoi

The UK Festival in Hanoi will take place from 9am to 10pm on September 9 and 10 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and Dinh Tien Hoang Street (Hoan Kiem District).

More than 60 booths and areas displaying the UK's strengths in education, healthcare, financial services, retail, tourism, sustainable development, sports, culture, cuisine... participated in the festival in Hanoi.

The opening ceremony on the morning of September 9 was attended and delivered speeches by British Ambassador to Vietnam, Iain Frew, and leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee.

The British military band will perform Vietnamese and British songs on the walking street in the mornings.

British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew and Phan Anh (Esheep) will demonstrate making British Scones in the afternoons.

On the evening of September 9, there will be a music night with the participation of the band 911, singer My Anh, singer Orange, DJ Johnny Harris from England & Mindaniel from Vietnam.

On the morning of September 10, the band 911 visited the UK Festival.

On the evening of 10th there will be a symphony orchestra performance and a fashion show.

Music night in Ho Chi Minh City

The UK Festival in Ho Chi Minh City will take place from 9am to 10pm on September 16 on Le Loi Street (between Nguyen Hue and Pasteur Streets, District 1) with more than 70 booths and areas displaying the UK's strengths in many areas.

The British Consul General and Ho Chi Minh City leaders will speak at the opening ceremony. The British Ambassador, British Consul General and city leaders visit the festival.

The cultural program will include performances by British schools and universities, a meeting with former Liverpool FC player Glen Johnson, a performance by the British Army Band, and a flashmob.

The music night features the 911 band, the Vietnamese Chillies band, singer Vu Thanh Van and DJ Anh.
