DNVN - According to Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, the industry and trade sector still has many issues that need to be resolved, supported and assisted to successfully complete its tasks, contributing to the country's socio-economic development.
On September 17, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son worked with the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the implementation of assigned tasks in the first 8 months of 2024, difficulties and problems, and solutions to promote in the coming time.
Reporting on the implementation of the sector's tasks, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang said that by the end of August 2024, the industry and trade sector was on track to achieve the targets set for 2024. Particularly, export growth and IIP targets may exceed the set plan. However, the severe damage caused by the recent storm No. 3 will require the entire sector to make greater efforts to achieve results for the whole year of 2024.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that, however, since the beginning of the term, there has not been a single day without inspection, examination, investigation and implementation of personnel procedures.

Regarding the recommendations and difficulties raised by representatives of enterprises and corporations during the working session, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that these are only typical difficulties and problems, because going into specifics, there are still many issues that need to be resolved.
Therefore, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed that the Government, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, together with ministries, branches and localities, continue to support and help the Industry and Trade sector to successfully complete its tasks, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and commended the contributions of the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade from the beginning of the term until now and in the first 8 months of 2024. At the same time, he reiterated the statement of the General Secretary and President that our country is entering a new phase, a new era, striving to realize the aspiration of the vision of becoming a developed country with high income by 2045. This is the goal and aspiration set for all levels and sectors.
In that spirit, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Industry and Trade sector to continue to improve its institutions to remove obstacles and difficulties, and create development. Continue to work with the Government, the Party and the State to promote the recovery of the country's development process. No matter how difficult it is, the Industry and Trade sector must be the key sector.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that the Ministry of Industry and Trade should take advantage of and exploit the signed FTAs, while continuing to negotiate and sign new FTAs, including negotiating an FTA with the Gulf region.
In the field of trade, the Deputy Prime Minister also highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in recent times, even in the conditions of storms and floods, to ensure smooth flow of goods to the market, increase domestic trade, especially the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods". The Ministry of Industry and Trade has coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant ministries and branches to expand the network of Vietnamese goods to foreign markets...
Regarding the recommendations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade as well as those of business representatives, the Deputy Prime Minister said that he will request the Government Office to collect and resolve them as soon as possible, creating motivation for businesses to produce and do business as well as ensuring economic development targets.
