Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Tam highly appreciated the effective cooperation between NIC, FPT and partners in developing the semiconductor industry ecosystem. Close cooperation between the public and private sectors will create an ecosystem and develop sustainable human resources, helping Vietnam not only catch up but also gradually progress and rise in global technology trends.
The Ministry of Finance is committed to always accompanying businesses and domestic and foreign partners to promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.
In recent times, the Ministry of Finance has assigned NIC to cooperate with leading domestic and foreign technology corporations and enterprises to actively and effectively implement many programs and activities. In particular, NIC has coordinated with FPT to provide short-term training scholarships for hundreds of students in the semiconductor field, and provide technical support on microchip design for about 40 universities in Vietnam.
In addition, NIC and FPT have also effectively coordinated to connect and attract many world technology corporations from the United States, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, etc. to Vietnam to study the investment and business environment.
According to Mr. Vu Quoc Huy - Director of NIC, the opening of VSIC and FPT-ALCHIP Semiconductor Startup Incubation Space marks another important step in realizing the Party and State's policies and orientations on breakthroughs in science, technology and innovation development. In which, promoting public-private cooperation, the 3-House model: State - School - Enterprise to develop the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.
At the event, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa - Chairman of FPT IS and Chairman of FPT Semiconductor, FPT Corporation emphasized the cooperation with partners to open VSIC, helping FPT implement the Government's decree. At the same time, opening up more opportunities for Vietnamese engineers, improving quality and creating more opportunities for engineers to develop.
“The establishment of VSIC demonstrates the strong commitment of FPT Corporation, NIC and partners in building a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem, making Vietnam an attractive destination in this strategic industry. This is a space to gather resources, create an ideal environment to train high-quality human resources and promote startups in the semiconductor field.
At the same time, it is also an important step in the roadmap to bring Vietnam deeper into the global semiconductor value chain, towards the goal of becoming a center of technology and innovation in the region," said Mr. Hoa.
