15 more 110 kV power grid projects put into operation to ensure power supply in the Southern region

This is the effort of the leadership, officers, employees of EVNSPC and the units participating in the project to complete the highest goal of energizing 50 110 kV power grid projects, making practical achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and 50 years of construction and development of EVNSPC (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

High determination, maximum effort

From the beginning of 2025, EVNSPC has made a weekly plan to regularly monitor, inspect and urge the implementation of investment and construction work, especially the plan to start construction and energize 110 kV power grid projects.

Since mid-March, despite the hot weather and high temperatures causing many difficulties for construction workers on the projects, the atmosphere and working spirit at the 110 kV grid projects have always been urgent, determined and making maximum efforts. In particular, together with the investor EVNSPC, the units participating in the project implementation, the construction units often work day and night, without weekends to complete the project on schedule.

As a result, in the first 3 months of the year, many projects in the provinces of Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Ca Mau , Kien Giang, Soc Trang... were continuously energized and put into operation on schedule.

In order to improve the reliability of power supply and meet the demand for load growth in localities such as Vinh Long, Binh Phuoc , Dong Thap, etc., many projects have been invested in, urgently constructed and put into operation by EVNSPC.

Typically, the 110 kV station project of Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park (IP) and the branch station of 110 kV station of Bac Dong Phu IP (Binh Phuoc province) has a total investment of nearly 112 billion VND. Construction started in December 2024, after just over 3 months of construction, the project was successfully energized on the night of March 30, 2025. Thereby, meeting the load demand of Dong Phu district and neighboring areas, especially the load demand of Bac Dong Phu IP.

Also in March 2025, EVNSPC energized and operated 2 110 kV power grid projects in Vinh Long province, including the project to increase the capacity of Binh Minh 110 kV Transformer Station (Binh Minh town). complete Phase 1 was completed after only 15 days of construction. The project meets the increased load of Hoa Phu Industrial Park (phase 1, 2 and 3), Binh Minh Industrial Park; industrial clusters: Song Phu, Phu An (Tam Binh district), Vinh Long city industrial cluster, Tan Quoi industrial cluster (Binh Tan district), Thuan An industrial cluster (Binh Minh town) as well as the growth of load in the area.

The project to increase the capacity of transformers T1 and T2 of Phuoc Hoa 110 kV transformer station with a total investment of more than 42 billion VND has contributed to reducing the load for transformer stations in neighboring areas; improving the reliability of grid operation according to N-1 criteria, connecting the 22 kV grid of Phuoc Hoa 110 kV transformer station with Binh Minh, Vung Liem, and Song Hau 110 kV transformer stations; meeting the demand for load growth in Long Ho district, Hoa Phu industrial park, etc.

In Dong Thap, EVNSPC has completed the project of upgrading and renovating the Hong Ngu 110 kV transformer station, ensuring electricity for the growing load demand in Hong Ngu city, Hong Ngu district, Tan Hong district and Preyveng province (Cambodia).

Along with that, projects such as: Replacing T1 transformer at Cho Moi 110 kV substation (An Giang province); renovating and increasing the capacity of Suoi Dop transformer station (Tay Ninh province); dividing the phase of the 110 kV Vinh Long 2 - Sa Dec transmission line (Dong Thap, Vinh Long); renovating and increasing the load capacity of the 110 kV Bao Loc - Di Linh 220 kV substation (Lam Dong province). Renovating and increasing the capacity of T1 transformer from 25 MVA to 40 MVA of Dam Doi 110 kV transformer station (Ca Mau)... have also been completed on schedule, improving the reliability of power supply in the area.

The 15 projects energized in March 2025 are not only the efforts of EVNSPC, management, construction, consulting, testing units..., but also the close coordination and active support of the Southern Power System Dispatch Center; authorities at all levels and people in the localities where the project passes through.

29 projects energized in the first 3 months of the year will be the motivation for EVNSPC and participating units to continue striving to complete 50 110 kV grid projects on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and 50 years of construction and development of EVNSPC.
