On March 25, the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects of Binh Thuan province announced that it had opened 8 km of coastal road DT.719B, the section connecting National Highway 1 to Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh intersection (Ham Thuan Nam district). The connecting point at Km 1710+500, National Highway 1 has been opened to allow traffic.
This is a project to renovate the coastal road connecting Phan Thiet City with Ke Ga beach, with a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND. "We have now paved more than 60% of the road, temporarily opening 8 km to serve the opening night of the National Tourism Year 2023 held at Tien Thanh beach" - the leader of this unit said.

Accordingly, implementing the direction of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province to best prepare the infrastructure to serve the activities of the National Tourism Year, the project investor has urged the contractor to complete and open the first 8 km of the route early.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vien, Deputy General Director of Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company 515 - the contractor for the construction of DT.719B road, the coastal road is more than 25.6 km long, most of the sections that have been handed over have completed asphalt paving. However, the difficulty is that the land has been handed over intermittently, many places have not been handed over yet. Of which, the most worrying is the overlapping section passing through a titanium mine that is nearly 4 km long and has not been handed over, so the joint construction of the entire route cannot be carried out yet.
"The construction unit completed the project as soon as the site was handed over. Up to now, 60% of the project has been completed," Mr. Vien shared.
The DT.719B coastal road has a 28 m wide roadbed and a 16 m wide road surface. When completed, this billion-dollar coastal road will open up opportunities to connect Phan Thiet city center with La Gi town, the southern region of Binh Thuan province and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. This route will also complete the infrastructure connecting with the North - South expressways, reducing the load on National Highway 1 through Binh Thuan.
