Sea of people jostling along the Han River to watch the 2024 international fireworks final

On the evening of July 13, thousands of people flocked to the area on both sides of the Han River, Da Nang to watch the 2024 international fireworks final.

Impressing the audience with the excellent fireworks displays before, the competition between the Chinese and Finnish teams in the final night attracted a lot of attention.

According to Tuoi Tre Online, although the fireworks display will not start until 8:30 p.m., since late afternoon, locals and tourists have flocked to the area on both sides of the Han River. The locations with good views to watch the fireworks were all booked early.

One of the most crowded places was on the Han River Bridge. Before 8pm, people were already standing on this swing bridge. Many people tried to squeeze through the crowd to find the best view of the fireworks.

Luckily, Ms. Le Do Nha Phuong (Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City) chose a nice spot on the Han River Bridge early, but she still felt suffocated because she had to stand in crowded places.

“I arrived here at 6pm, but very quickly there was no more space around me. Although it was quite tiring and hot, this was an opportunity for me to see world-class fireworks with my own eyes,” said Ms. Phuong.

Along both sides of Tran Hung Dao and Bach Dang streets, thousands of people also spread out tarps and raincoats and sat waiting to enjoy the fireworks.

While watching the fireworks and enjoying some snacks, Mr. Tran Van Hoang (a tourist from Quang Tri) said his family was very happy to experience this wonderful moment.

“This year’s fireworks were truly spectacular. I feel a bit regretful that the 2024 International Fireworks Festival will end tonight. If I have the chance, my family and I will continue to come to Da Nang to watch the fireworks in the coming years,” said Mr. Hoang.
