Regarding Tuoi Tre Online 's reflection on the clip of a young man accusing a street vendor on Trang Tien Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) of "blackmailing" and following his group to demand payment even though they had not purchased any goods, on the morning of March 21, the authorities responded.

The leader of Trang Tien Ward Police (Hoan Kiem District) said that after the reflection of Tuoi Tre newspaper, the unit quickly took action to verify.

Through verification, Trang Tien Ward Police determined that the incident occurred at around 8:00 p.m. on March 19 at the Trang Tien - Hang Bai intersection. The street vendor in the clip, named NTY (born in 1969, in Thanh Tri District), was also invited to the ward police headquarters for questioning.

Here, Ms. Y. said that on the evening of March 19, she sold fruit to 5-6 men and women for 80,000 VND. However, while paying, a police car arrived, so she panicked and ran away without collecting the money. When she turned back, she saw a group of young people walking on Hang Khay Street. Thinking that this group of young people might have just bought her goods, Ms. Y. followed them and offered to pay.

Seeing this, the group of young men took out their phones to film and confirmed that they had not purchased anything. Ms. Y. said that when she realized her mistake, she did not follow them to ask for money.

The leader of Trang Tien Ward Police added that the unit has not yet verified the group of young men who posted the clip online to change Ms. Y's testimony.

"In the immediate future, the ward police will fine Ms. Y. for selling on the street and on the sidewalk with a fine of 100,000 - 200,000 VND," said the above leader.

Previously, on the evening of March 20, Tuoi Tre Online reported that a clip appeared on social media of a young man with a southern accent accusing a street vendor on Trang Tien Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) of following a group of young people and demanding payment for ice cream even though they had not purchased anything.

Specifically, according to the clip, a group of six people were standing on the street taking pictures, without any buying or selling activities, when suddenly a seller yelled at them and falsely accused them of buying something without paying.

Even though the group of young people left, the street vendor continued to follow them and demand payment. The group of tourists kept saying they had not bought anything, but the street vendor insisted that the group had "already bought it".

At this time, the young man said: "We have never bought anything, we really like Hanoi, what you did is affecting Hanoi, embarrassing Hanoi people".

Then, when he saw the group of young people holding a camera to film him asking for money, the street vendor immediately changed his attitude and said: "You're wrong."

The above clip has received public attention after being posted. Many people expressed disappointment with the street vendor's actions.

Regarding the incident, in an interview with Tuoi Tre Online that evening, a leader of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District said the district would investigate.

"We will transfer the clip to the District Police to verify and strictly handle according to regulations if the above incident is determined to be true" - said the leader of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District.
