(CLO) The "Khai Xuan" art exhibition is taking place at the Center for Appraisal and Exhibition of Fine Arts and Photography Works at 29 Hang Bai (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) bringing to the public a cultural and artistic space at the beginning of the new year filled with spring colors in every stroke and color block, extremely impressive.


The exhibition “Khai Xuan” was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, in response to the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), celebrating the Spring of At Ty 2025, and welcoming the country into a new era. This is also an opportunity to encourage and motivate established artists and promising artists to continuously create outstanding works, contributing to the development of the country's art.

The 58 works by 29 artists selected for display are a combination of individual colors but share a common source of positive energy, sending good messages about a new spring, full of faith and hope. At the exhibition, the artists skillfully and skillfully processed and expressed a variety of painting materials, from oil paint, acrylic, wood carving, lacquer to silk and do paper. Although the number of sculptures is smaller, they also bring unique aesthetic values.

With the theme of spring, many works depict beautiful natural scenery, flower seasons, traditional festivals... from all over the country, from the northern mountainous villages to the streets of Hanoi or the river countryside. Painter Ngo Quang Nam (born in 1942), the oldest artist of the exhibition, contributed 3 favorite works: "By Thien Quang Lake", "On the Ha Giang Plateau" and "Mong Panpipe". Sharing the feelings of a veteran artist, he expressed his joy at attending an event that gathered many generations of Vietnamese painters and sculptors.

Each work here contains the artist’s ideas and deep feelings about the vitality of spring, through the artistic language sent to the public. Sharing the same assessment of the exhibition “Khai Xuan” which gathers many typical works on many materials, painter Le Anh Van - former Principal of Vietnam University of Fine Arts affirmed that art is a bridge to help people share love and happiness in the new spring. At this exhibition, painter Le Anh Van has the work “Rán đàn”, contributing an artistic perspective on the image of the zodiac animal of the year.

In addition, one of the works that many viewers paid attention to and took souvenir photos of was the four-panel painting series “Peaceful Seasons” by artist Vu Thuy Mai (born in 1990). The watercolor on silk work by the youngest artist in the exhibition impressed with its bright, vibrant colors and the harmony of many small details. According to the female artist, the work was inspired by the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter in Hanoi, with each season having a different flower and fruit, leaving its own mark. Spring has dahlias and narcissus, summer has lotus flowers, autumn has milk flowers, winter has chrysanthemums…

Some typical sculptures rich in artistry, expressing rich creative thinking can be mentioned as "Mountains and Rivers" by Ngo Tuan Phong, "Pink Space" by Thai Nhat Minh, "Mother's Spring" by Luu Thanh Lan, "Long Bien Bridge" by Vuong Thao...

The 29 authors participating in the exhibition, representing three generations of visual artists, who have made contributions to the development of the fine arts industry, have worked or participated in professional activities organized by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions; are well-known artists and young artists with professional expertise, gradually asserting their position in the country's art scene.

Some of them include Ngo Quang Nam, Nguyen Phu Cuong, Le Anh Van, Vi Kien Thanh, Vuong Thao, Mai Xuan Oanh, Le Duc Tung, Hai Kien, Lam Duc Manh, Nguyen Truong Linh, Nguyen Huu Khoa, Ngo Quang Duong, Nguyen Nghia Dau, Trinh Tuan, Chu Viet Cuong, Vu Thai Binh, Tong Ngoc...

Present at the exhibition, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong emphasized the inheritance and continuity between generations, giving us a relatively complete and comprehensive view of contemporary Vietnamese fine arts, with a team of authors rich in creative energy.

The "Khai Xuan" exhibition is open to visitors until February 20.
