Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Secretary was disciplined with warning

Kinhtedothi - On the afternoon of January 15, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed, voted by secret ballot to approve and promulgate Resolution No. 1364/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the dismissal of Mr. Duong Van An, a member of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Phuc province, from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

Previously, on January 10, Mr. Duong Van An submitted a resignation letter from his duties as a National Assembly Deputy. On the morning of January 11, Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work for Mr. Duong Van An.

Accordingly, the Politburo has considered and decided to let Mr. Duong Van An, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Phuc province, stop participating in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and stop holding the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and retire from work from January 10.

The Politburo found that Mr. Duong Van An, during his tenure as Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee (from October 2020 to March 2024), violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned duties and responsibilities. The violations occurred in the prevention and fight against corruption, waste, and negativity; violated what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

The above violations caused serious consequences, great losses to the State budget, negative public opinion, and reduced the prestige of the Party organization and local government. Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the above violations, according to the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Politburo decided to issue a warning to Mr. Duong Van An.
