Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong concluded the working session at the Department of Science and Technology.

In the period of 2021-2024, the province will implement 36 science and technology tasks; many scientific and technological advances in animal husbandry, cultivation, especially aquaculture... have been transferred to enterprises in the province and applied in production practices, contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for people in remote areas and ethnic minority areas. At the same time, improving the capacity to apply scientific and technological advances of enterprises in the area.

The Department of Science and Technology regularly pays attention to perfecting the organization and apparatus of the unit according to regulations; specialized tasks on science and technology and innovation are implemented relatively comprehensively and effectively . Some research and application activities have achieved good results, building brands and reputation for some agricultural products on the market. The Department has promptly advised the province to issue directive documents, amend and supplement policies and regulations on the management of science and technology activities in accordance with practical requirements and local conditions . Advised the province to propose to the Ministry of Science and Technology 13 national science and technology tasks and the Ministry approved the list of 13 tasks belonging to the programs for rural mountainous areas ; urgent local programs; intellectual property development programs... Advised the Provincial People 's Committee to approve the list of 16 provincial science and technology tasks; Implement the transfer of results of 26 scientific research topics and projects to agencies , units and localities in the province . Guide and effectively implement the province's mechanisms and policies in supporting scientific and technological activities . Thereby contributing to effectively implementing the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the period of 2021-2024 of the province.

Regarding the task of developing science and technology by 2030, the Department of Science and Technology continues to promote the application of science and technology in production practices, research and implement science and technology programs to increase productivity and quality of key local products (Tua Chua tea; Muong Ang coffee; macadamia in Tuan Giao, Muong Nhe, Muong Ang, Dien Bien districts and Dien Bien Phu city). Research and develop valuable medicinal plants; promote the application of science and technology in processing agricultural and forestry products, planting and processing wood; apply biotechnology and high technology suitable for agriculture, medicine, environmental protection and develop OCOP products of the province. Guide and support enterprises in applying quality management systems, advanced management tools; certify products, goods, certify food safety management systems and certify traceability systems of products and goods in accordance with national and international standards; Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP)...

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Department of Science and Technology in the period of 2021-2024. He requested the Department to promote the achieved results, continue to promote the development and application of science and technology to transform production, and make positive contributions to the overall development of the province. The Provincial Party Secretary noted: The Provincial Party Standing Committee has just approved the investment policy for the Dien Bien Province Aquatic Seed Production and Experimental Farm project (in Chan Nuoi 2 village, Thanh Xuong commune, Dien Bien district). This project not only aims to provide aquatic seeds for people in the province but also serves as a place to research, test, and experiment with new plant and animal varieties before putting them into mass production. Therefore, the Department of Science and Technology closely coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, relevant agencies and localities to implement the project right from the beginning to facilitate the implementation process later.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested to continue promoting research activities and application of science and technology in sectors such as agriculture , especially high-tech agriculture, biotechnology , etc. Pay attention to research in the fields of culture and tourism to advise and propose to provincial leaders to consider and implement in order to contribute to creating new products with the province's brand to promote local potential and advantages and be competitive in the market.

Continue to link scientific research with business production activities of enterprises , taking enterprises as the center of innovation . Effectively implement financial support according to regulations for enterprises and localities in implementing topics and projects on research and application of science and technology in practice.
