Provincial Party Secretary Le Quang Tung: The Front and political organizations

This afternoon, July 2, the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee held a conference to review the work of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the provincial level in the first 6 months of 2024, and deploy tasks for the third quarter of 2024. Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri Province Le Quang Tung chaired the conference. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the province have promoted their core role in propagating and mobilizing union members, association members, and workers to promote democracy and the strength of the great national unity bloc to actively participate in patriotic emulation campaigns and movements in carrying out local political tasks.

Implementing social security policies well, taking care of the poor during Tet; humanitarian and charitable activities, repaying gratitude, sustainable poverty reduction, building new rural areas, developing the socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas...

Thereby, actively contributing to the efforts to effectively implement the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025 on the goals and targets of socio-economic development, Party building and the political system.

Notably, in the first 6 months of 2024, the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels mobilized 10,427 billion VND, supporting the construction of 174 new solidarity houses for poor households with a budget of 11.72 billion VND. Through the "Linking Hands of Love" Program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province presented 80,259 Tet gifts, supported the construction of 135 solidarity houses, 1 charity house... for poor households, policy households, Agent Orange victims, people with disabilities and orphans, families affected by natural disasters, and those in especially difficult circumstances worth over 47 billion VND.

The program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Connect" of the Provincial Federation of Labor is associated with activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate spring, organize year-end meals, give gifts to 4,620 union members and workers with the amount of 3.1 billion VND; union levels have supported giving gifts to 10,002 union members and workers, worth 3 billion VND.

The Provincial Women's Union has implemented and coordinated many meaningful and practical activities to take care of Tet for female members, children in difficult circumstances, godchildren... with a total budget of nearly 1.86 billion VND. The Veterans Association coordinated to organize social security activities for poor veteran members and those in difficult circumstances with a budget of over 2.4 billion VND.

In the third quarter of 2024, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the provincial level will focus on improving the quality, innovating the content and methods of operation to effectively implement the Action Program to implement the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels in conjunction with the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security, Party building and the political system.

Continue to coordinate to care for people's lives and production, and resolve issues that people are concerned about and concerned about. Strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to agree on site clearance to create favorable conditions for the implementation of key projects of the country, province and localities.

At the conference, delegates exchanged and discussed difficulties, obstacles and limitations in the process of performing tasks.

In particular, the coordination of activities between the front, unions and departments and branches in some localities and units is not yet synchronous, so it has not created strength in solidarity and mass gathering; some patriotic emulation campaigns and movements have not really gone into depth and lacked spreading and sustainability; social criticism and suggestions for Party and government building are sometimes limited; foreign affairs work sometimes encounters difficulties due to entanglement with mechanisms and regulations.

Concluding the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Le Quang Tung emphasized that this is the time to "accelerate" to effectively implement the resolutions of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025 on socio-economic development goals and targets, Party building and the political system.

Therefore, in the third quarter of 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the provincial level need to focus on improving the quality, innovating the content and methods of operation to specifically and effectively implement the policies, resolutions, decisions, directives, conclusions, regulations and rules of the Party and the Provincial Party Committee on the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security, Party building and the political system.

In particular, focusing on the province's key tasks by promoting propaganda and mobilizing people to agree on land clearance to implement the construction of key projects, such as: Coastal road connecting the East - West Economic Corridor phase 1, Quang Tri Airport, Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway, Quang Tri Industrial Park...

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations must actively direct and develop programs and activities to mobilize and attract a large number of union members, association members and people in the province to participate in digital transformation, administrative reform, and improve the investment environment.

Mobilize resources to implement policies to support the construction of new houses for poor households and houses for teachers in remote areas. Focus on comprehensively directing the work of developing plans to prepare documents and personnel for the next term's Party Congresses at all levels. Assign the Provincial Party Committee Office to study mechanisms to support foreign affairs work for the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the provincial level.
