In the joyful atmosphere of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025), the Petrolimex Youth Union solemnly organized a dialogue conference between the Party Secretary - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group and Petrolimex youth on the development orientation of the Group associated with the era of national development. The conference had the direct participation of nearly 100 union members and outstanding youth at the main hall and more than 700 comrades participating at online bridges.
On the Government Delegation side, there was the participation of comrade Bui Hoang Tung - Member of the Government Party Executive Committee, Member of the Central Youth Union Standing Committee, Secretary of the Government Delegation.
On the side of Petrolimex, there was the participation of comrade Pham Van Thanh - Member of the Government Party Executive Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group; comrade Dao Nam Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of the Group; and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Party Executive Committee of the Group, the Board of Directors; comrades in the Party Committees of the Corporations/Companies under the Group.
On the guest and speaker side at the Conference, there was the participation of Mr. Kieu Manh Toan - Director of large enterprise and government customers, Microsoft Vietnam; Mr. Le Nhan Tam, Technology Director, Microsoft Vietnam.
On the side of the Group's Youth Union, there was the participation of comrade Tran Quang Vinh - Member of the Group's Party Executive Committee, Member of the Government Youth Union Executive Committee, Secretary of the Group's Youth Union; along with comrades of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Group's Youth Union; Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, and outstanding members from affiliated Youth Unions participating directly at the hall and via online bridge.

Held on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Conference is an opportunity for Petrolimex youth to look back on the proud history of the Youth Union, exchange and share with the Group's leaders and contribute initiatives and proposals in the development of Petrolimex.
Opening the Conference program, representing Petrolimex youth, comrade Tran Quang Vinh - Secretary of the Group's Youth Union presented a speech commemorating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Looking back at the 94-year history of the Union, from the turbulent years of the Nghe Tinh Soviet, the August Revolution of 1945 to the Great Victory of Spring 1975, it can be seen that, regardless of conditions or circumstances, the youth have always been the leading force, enthusiastically volunteering, stepping forward, and sacrificing themselves for the independence and freedom of the nation.
“Along with the youth of the whole country, inheriting and promoting the precious traditions of the youth of the Ho Chi Minh era, Petrolimex youth in general have made important contributions to the construction and sustainable development of enterprises and the country... Proactively implementing movements such as Youth Union innovating and creating to improve productivity and efficiency of enterprises; Youth Union participating in protecting the Petrolimex brand... Along with that is mastering new technology products deployed by the Group”.
Contributing to improving the knowledge and capacity of the Youth Union members and youth in the digital transformation era, the Conference listened to the presentation on the topic "Technology trends and the impact of AI" by expert Le Nhan Tam - Technology Director, Microsoft Vietnam. Here, the speaker brought new and vivid perspectives on AI, from its origin, current development to the impacts of AI on business profits. This useful and practical information helped Petrolimex Youth Union members and youth have a clearer view of the role of AI in the digital age, thereby being ready to grasp and apply technology into practice.
Promoting the spirit of innovation and creativity of young people at Petrolimex
The focus of the Conference was the dialogue between Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group Pham Van Thanh and delegates, guests with Petrolimex youth about the development orientation of the Group associated with the era of national growth.
Here, delegates and experts took turns answering questions from Petrolimex Youth Union members and youth regarding the Group's strategic orientation as well as the role of Petrolimex youth in that journey.
Answering the question about the Group's orientation, comrade Pham Van Thanh said that the Group's strategic vision for the period 2025-2030 with a vision to 2045 is to become a leading national energy technology group, a pioneer in the application of science and technology, digital transformation to create sustainable development solutions for the country through the role and mission of providing green, clean, sustainable and environmentally friendly fuel sources. To realize this vision, the head of the Group emphasized that Petrolimex needs to focus on five strategic pillars: Digital infrastructure and connectivity; Strong human resources and corporate culture; Promoting innovation; Optimizing the power of technology and data; Innovating cooperation and developing the ecosystem. He also affirmed: These five pillars are not only the compass for Petrolimex's innovation but also the way we contribute to implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo.
When asked about the role of technology in the digital age, Mr. Pham Van Thanh affirmed: Technology is not just a tool, but how we apply it will determine success. Technology is the key for Petrolimex to move quickly, strongly and steadily on its development journey. Instead of spreading resources, the Group will focus on investing in strategic key technology solutions. Projects such as applying AI in supply chain management, IoT in safe operations, and digital platforms for customer service will be top priorities. However, technology only truly shines when combined with the creativity and innovation of employees.
With frankness, comrade Pham Van Thanh admitted that Petrolimex is still slow in the digital transformation journey compared to the requirements of the times and the speed of innovation of the country. The reason lies in the old mindset that still exists in a part of the leaders and employees, along with the spirit of learning that has not been strongly spread. He also warned the youth - the younger generation that "If we do not transform strongly and drastically, we will fall behind very quickly".
The Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group pledged that the leadership team will set an example, change thinking and create an environment for young people to maximize their potential; at the same time, they also call for and inspire confidence and motivation for the younger generation: "Young people must be pioneers, propose new ideas, experiment with creative ways of doing things and spread the spirit of innovation throughout the system", "Petrolimex not only needs talented people - but also needs young people who dare to think big, do real things, innovate and be steadfast".
Continuing the dialogue, answering the question of how to effectively promote the use of AI without losing the creativity of young people, expert Le Nhan Tam used the images of “Stick” and “Carrot” to share the ways that Microsoft has done. At the same time, he also affirmed: AI is only a support tool and cannot replace humans in decision making.
Representing Petrolimex youth, Youth Union Secretary Tran Quang Vinh sent two opinions to the Group's leaders. The first is that more attention should be paid to training in professional skills and new technologies for the workforce directly at gas stations - the extended arm of the enterprise. The second is that there should be more policies to encourage union members to participate more deeply in the group's digital transformation process; encourage young people to actively contribute creative ideas to promote the rapid development of Petrolimex, in line with the general trend of the country.
Sharing the same opinion, outstanding member Bui Bao Chau, who is working at Petrolimex Information Technology and Telecommunications Joint Stock Company (Piacom), also proposed a 3-step process to realize creative ideas, including: Creating a space for members to share ideas; Recognition and evaluation by leaders; Creating an environment to test and apply those ideas.
Participating in answering questions and suggestions from youth union members, Deputy Party Secretary, Board Member, General Director Dao Nam Hai said that digital transformation is now an inevitable requirement for businesses, not just a trend because it can help businesses improve labor productivity almost indefinitely. This trend does not contradict or conflict with people interacting directly with each other. The task now is to find a way for each Petrolimex person to carry out digital transformation every day, in every job. The Group's leaders will not only create a good working environment but will also bring many opportunities to exchange, communicate, and listen to the voices of employees. Each session like that will not only be a pure exchange but also to learn from each other to develop, to be able to work better, and contribute more to Petrolimex.
Mr. Dao Nam Hai also added that the Group's leaders have high expectations from the youth, because the youth are the next generation, the next generation with the power of innovation and creativity. The union members and young people must give more opinions so that the Group's leaders can understand better and bring them better opportunities to demonstrate their abilities. Young people at Petrolimex need to be more determined, more dedicated, more committed; need to be ready to take on difficult tasks and contribute more. Besides, it is necessary to constantly learn and develop themselves to always be ready for the changes of the times.
Concluding the Conference, Comrade Pham Van Thanh emphasized: “In order to become a strong energy group, reaching out in the new era as the set goal, Petrolimex must carefully prepare a young generation that meets strict standards on human resources for integration and sustainable development.”
At the same time, he also inspired the young generation of Petrolimex with the call: "You are the future of Petrolimex. Dare to dream big, dare to act and dare to take responsibility." This is not only a word of encouragement but also a deep trust in the young generation - those who will inherit and write the next stages of development of Petrolimex in the era of the country's rise.
