Dear young people,
Today, I am very happy and proud to have the time to share at the discussion with you - the young people of Petrolimex, who are carrying new vitality, new spirit and new responsibility for a Group that has been established and developed for nearly 70 years.
We are living in a special period of the country, a period of strong transformation with many changes, many challenges - but also countless opportunities. 2025 and the coming years will be a key and important period for Petrolimex. We not only continue to play a leading role in the petroleum industry, but also have to quickly adapt to the new energy transition trend, to digital transformation, to the rise of data and artificial intelligence, and to the increasingly high expectations from the Party, the State to our partners and customers.
Technology, data, AI – artificial intelligence – are changing every field. And no matter what department we are in, what job we do in Petrolimex, one thing that cannot be changed is: we must learn to adapt – and more than that, know how to leverage the power of technology to grow and develop.
In that process, I want you – the young generation of Petrolimex – to play a central role. Not because we want to “empower”, but because we believe that you are capable enough to lead change, to make a difference, and to write a new chapter for Petrolimex – a chapter that is more modern, dynamic and innovative than ever.
You have the greatest advantage that no one else has: youth. When you are young, you can try, you can fail, you can get up and try again. When you are young, you can dare to dream what others think is impossible. The important thing is – don’t let your ideas just stay in your head, or your ambitions just exist in inspirational talks. We must take action. Concrete action. Every day.
Petrolimex is in dire need of young people who dare to learn new things, dare to use technology, data, and artificial intelligence to solve very old but never easy problems – such as how to sell more effectively, how to serve customers better, how to control risks better, how to optimize the entire Group’s operations. Those solutions are not far away – they lie within your own thinking, creativity, and initiative.
Recently, I have also researched and read many books about Artificial Intelligence – AI and how to effectively use AI in work. I have concluded that “ AI will not replace humans. But humans who know how to collaborate effectively with AI – will replace those who do not know .” I want you to think seriously about this. In the Petrolimex environment, we do not need everyone to become technology experts, but I hope you are young pioneers in applying technology to improve efficiency, optimize processes and improve thinking.
Instead of working like “yesterday”, ask yourself: “Can I use AI to support faster report analysis?”, “Can I automate some of the repetitive work?”, “What new tools can I use to research and learn more effectively?”, “Can I change the old way of doing things?”, “Can I try a different approach?”…….. That is innovative thinking – and we need it in every unit, every department, every smallest job. That is the creative and innovative thinking that Petrolimex needs from the young generation.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, once said, “ Innovation never comes from a comfort zone .” And I completely agree. If we continue to do the same thing we did five years ago, we will most likely be replaced in five years. So learn, update, and dare to try new things every day – whether it’s in operations, sales, finance, accounting, logistics, or R&D.
Petrolimex not only needs talented people – but also young people who dare to think big, do real things, innovate and persevere.
I know that the journey ahead will not be easy. But with enthusiasm and a spirit of continuous learning, I believe that you will make a difference. Don't be afraid of failure - because sometimes failure is the best way to grow. Elon Musk once said: "If everything you do is successful, you are not challenging enough." And I also hope that you dare not only to do well, but also to dare to do differently.
Dear young people,
I expect you to be not just doers, but makers. Not just “work hard,” but “work smart.” Not just dreamers, but doers.
Remember: Petrolimex is not a place where you come to have a comfortable workplace, a “good working environment” – but a place where you are given the conditions to develop, to be creative, to express yourself and to together build a modern, sustainable energy group.
I hope that you, the youth union members, the young cadres working in different departments of the Group, together foster a common spirit: creativity, openness, willingness to learn and commitment. Do not be afraid of failure, do not be afraid of change - as long as we act for the common goal, for the long-term development of Petrolimex and the country.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you – the young people who are contributing every day to build the image of a professional, modern and vibrant Petrolimex. Let’s continue to move forward with aspiration, energy and pride in being a part of this Group.
