At around 5:00 p.m. on September 27, while fishing in the sea 90 nautical miles from Song Tu Tay Island, Mr. Nguyen Huu Vinh, 51 years old, Quang Nam, was hit by a fishing line on both hands, causing a lot of bleeding and had to be bandaged on the spot.
The patient was taken to Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary by QNa 90668 TS ship captained by Mr. Luong Toi, born in 1976, at 6:45 a.m. on September 28. The patient was diagnosed with a wound on the left hand: peeling of the skin on the liver of the 2nd phalanx of the V finger, the dorsum of the 2nd phalanx of the III finger; a wound on the right hand: dislocation of the 2nd and 3rd phalanx of the V finger, and damage to blood vessels on both sides due to a work accident on the 2nd day.
The patient was quickly X-rayed by the medical team at Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary, showing dislocation of the 2nd and 3rd phalanges of the right V finger. They checked for damage to the right V finger, dislocation of the 2nd and 3rd phalanges of the V finger, the skin on the palm side of the finger was uneven, missing segments, and blood vessels on both sides of the fingers were severed. There was no damage to the deep flexor tendons. The skin on the 1st and 2nd phalanges was pale and anemic, and there was still a bridge of skin on the dorsum of the hand.
The patient had no fever, the wound was bleeding and there was a risk of necrosis of the 2nd and 3rd phalanges of the right hand. The medical team of Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary consulted with Dr. Nguyen Viet Nam, Senior Specialist in Upper Limb and Microsurgery at Hospital TWQD108, to perform surgery to clean and suture the wound of the left hand, adjust the joints of the 2nd and 3rd phalanges of the right hand, place a splint, give fluids, antibiotics, pain relievers, and closely monitor the nutrition of the right phalanges.
The patient's condition is being monitored and any abnormalities should be promptly reported.
