After a period of preparing equipment and machinery, sending staff to the upper level for training, completing procedures to request permission from the authorities, on December 28, 2023, with the professional support of Dr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Head of the Department of Artificial Kidney, Cho Ray Hospital, to support the transfer of techniques, Thien Hanh General Hospital performed artificial kidney dialysis for the first 5 patients.

The artificial kidney unit of Thien Hanh General Hospital is equipped with 10 machines in the first phase (manufactured by B.Brawn - Germany: one of the world's leading suppliers of machines and materials for kidney dialysis, the machine has safety features, evaluates post-dialysis efficiency, has the function of filtering endotoxins and 100% uses high permeability filter membranes, helping to increase efficiency and improve the quality of treatment for patients), performing 2 kidney dialysis sessions for 10 patients per day.

At the time of the technical implementation, Thien Hanh General Hospital performed kidney dialysis for a very serious patient, Mr. VVD (born in 1963), who had suffered from kidney failure for 4 years. This patient had end-stage kidney failure and needed to be dialysis 3 times a week, but due to the lack of conditions to go to a higher level, the patient had a lot of excess fluid, from 7 to 10 kg, and had difficulty breathing. Thien Hanh General Hospital initially prioritized kidney dialysis for this patient for 3 consecutive days to remove excess fluid, then continued to do dialysis 3 times a week. After the first dialysis, patient V. felt much better, had less difficulty breathing, and was happy and assured of treatment.

Also in this deployment, Thien Hanh General Hospital offers free dialysis for the first 50 patients.

Currently, the hemodialysis unit of Thien Hanh General Hospital has 5 doctors and 8 nurses who have been trained and have practice certificates.
