On the evening of October 28, the closing ceremony of the 4th Asian Para Games (Asian Para Games 2023) took place at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium (China).
Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin attended the closing ceremony. Asian Paralympic Committee President Majid Rashed spoke at the event.
The 60-minute closing ceremony, themed “Flying Up in Dreams to Meet Again,” included three chapters: “Farewell Tonight,” “Tea for a Long Journey,” “The Most Reminiscent of Hangzhou,” and three short films, “You Are the Best,” “Tea for a Long Journey,” and “You Are the Most Unforgettable.”
Through the three keywords of ritual, rhyme and emotion, the closing ceremony highlights the memorable moments at the Hangzhou Asian Games, the hearts of the Chinese people and Asian friendship.
The closing ceremony featured elements representing local culture, such as West Lake silk umbrellas, Chinese tea and traditional Chinese musical instruments, hoping to bring audiences and participants of the 2023 Asian Para Games beautiful memories of Hangzhou and Chinese hospitality.
The ceremony was attended by 213 physically disabled artists, along with other artists. Their faces were radiant with confidence and full of vitality. The torch extinguishing also left a strong impression on the audience, along with the unique emotions of the Asian Para Games for Asian disabled people.

The 2023 Asian Para Games will be held in Hangzhou from October 22-28. The seven-day event will provide a stage for disabled athletes to pursue their dreams and shine brightly, documenting the development of para sports in China and Asia.
With nearly 3,100 disabled athletes from 44 countries and territories gathering in Hangzhou to pursue their dreams, the 2023 Asian Para Games is the largest Asian Para Games in history.
This Asian Para Games has held nearly 3,000 competitions with 501 sets of medals awarded. As of October 27, a total of 21 world records, 70 Asian records and 263 competition records have been broken.
There were a total of 24 gold medalists and 33 medalists. Among them, Iran (44 gold medalists), Japan (42 gold medalists), South Korea (30 gold medalists), India (29 gold medalists), Indonesia (29 gold medalists), Thailand (27 gold medalists) and Uzbekistan (25 gold medalists) ranked 2nd to 8th on the gold medal list, respectively.
The host team won 214 gold, 167 silver and 140 bronze medals, not only achieving the highest number of medals and gold medals at the 2023 Asian Para Games, but also becoming the first team to win more than 200 gold medals in a single Asian Para Games. In the previous three Asian Para Games, the number of gold medals won by the Chinese team was 185, 174 and 172 respectively.
After days of competition full of effort and determination, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation won a total of one gold medal, 10 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, ranking 22nd in the medal tally of the 2023 Asian Para Games.
