
Article “70 years after the battle of Dien Bien Phu” in Unidad y Lucha (Unity and Struggle) newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Spanish People's Communist Party (PCPE).
According to Unidad y Lucha, in the annals of revolutionary victories that can be classified as global heritage, Dien Bien Phu is one of the decisive battles that changed the situation of the struggle of colonial peoples in Indochina to liberate themselves from the French colonial regime at that time.
The article highlights the military tactical genius of General Vo Nguyen Giap, who ensured victory at Dien Bien Phu, changing the course of the July 1954 Geneva Accords on peace in the region.
From the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the PCPE's mouthpiece drew the following lessons: Gathering forces; strategy and tactics; organizing against imperialism; different stages in strategy (defensive stage, balancing forces, general counterattack); the guiding role of the Party; systematizing diverse functions (front line, rear, communications, operations); accurately assessing weaknesses and strengths (defensive and offensive actions) and most importantly, being strong and fighting relentlessly.
70 years after the Dien Bien Phu Victory, Unidad y Lucha continues to research and analyze the lessons learned from the past. This is a testament to the intact value of the event that has become a brilliant milestone in the history of the Vietnamese people, a source of pride for the nation and the national liberation movement in the world.
