Seminar on the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 78th Anniversary of Uncle Ho's First Visit to Thanh Hoa

On the morning of February 3, Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held a seminar to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025) and the 78th anniversary of Uncle Ho's first visit to Thanh Hoa (February 20, 1947 - February 20, 2025).

In the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the first days of the new spring of At Ty 2025, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh presented a speech reviewing the heroic history and glorious tradition of 95 years of building and developing the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam and 78 years since Uncle Ho first visited Thanh Hoa. It stated: 95 years ago, on February 3, 1930, the conference to unify communist organizations held in Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong (China), under the chairmanship of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, decided to unify and establish the Communist Party of Vietnam. This was a major historical turning point, ending the prolonged crisis in the organization and direction of the Vietnamese revolution. The Party's first political platform adopted at the Party's founding conference determined the basic path of the Vietnamese revolution, meeting the urgent needs of the nation and the legitimate aspirations of all classes of people.

With the correct revolutionary line, supported and absolutely trusted by the people, within just 15 years, our Party led the national liberation struggle, with historical milestones through the revolutionary movements of 1930 - 1931, 1936 - 1939 and 1939 - 1945, ending in victory with the "earth-shaking" August Revolution of 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the first worker-peasant state in Southeast Asia on September 2, 1945.

Immediately after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, the revolution had to face many difficulties and challenges, simultaneously confronting “famine, ignorance and foreign invaders”. In that dangerous situation, the Party led our people to overcome the “life-threatening” situation, steadfastly protecting and building the young government, while actively preparing in all aspects to enter the resistance war against the French colonialists. Based on the “all-people”, “comprehensive”, “long-term” and “self-reliance” resistance policies, promoting the tradition of solidarity and patriotism of the entire nation, the Party led the people to successively defeat all the enemy’s plots and invasion plans, creating the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory “resounding throughout the five continents, shaking the world”, forcing the French colonialists to sign the Geneva Agreement (in 1954), ending the war of aggression against Vietnam.

The French colonialists were defeated, and the US imperialists invaded our country. After 21 years of steadfast and indomitable fighting, under the wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, our entire nation simultaneously carried out the national democratic revolution in the South and the socialist revolution in the North; continuously defeated the enemy's brutal war strategies, won many glorious victories, the peak of which was the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign on April 30, 1975, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country.

The country was reunited, the Party led the people to focus on restoring the socio-economy while fighting to protect the borders, independence and sacred territorial sovereignty of the Fatherland. Faced with new requirements for national development, to overcome the shortcomings of the centralized, bureaucratic and subsidized planning mechanism that led to the socio-economic crisis in the post-war years. At the 6th National Party Congress (December 1986), on the basis of summarizing the practice, the Party drew many profound lessons of high theoretical value. Accordingly, it initiated the policy of comprehensive national renovation, opening an important turning point in the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland in our country.

After nearly 40 years of implementing the Party's renovation policy, from a poor, backward, low-level, besieged and embargoed country, our country has become a developing country with average income, comprehensively and deeply integrated into the international community. Independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity have been maintained, national interests have been guaranteed. The scale of the economy has increased 96 times compared to 1986, entering the Top 40 leading economies in the world; diplomatic relations have been established with 194 countries and territories in the world, and strategic partnerships and comprehensive partnerships with 30 countries. People's lives have been significantly improved, completing the Millennium Development Goals early. Political, economic, cultural, social, scientific - technological, national defense - security potential; position and prestige of our country in the international arena have been constantly enhanced. Socialist democracy has been promoted and increasingly expanded. The political system and the great national unity bloc have been consolidated and strengthened. The renovation process initiated and led by our Party has aroused the strength of the entire people, liberated the labor force and led to the successes and achievements of today.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh emphasized: Proud of the greatness of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the 95-year journey of construction and development, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee has also gone through 95 years of history, since the Provisional Executive Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee was established on July 29, 1930, at the house of Mr. Le Van Sy, in Yen Truong village, Tho Lap commune, Tho Xuan district.

During nearly a century of establishment - struggle - construction and development; under the leadership and direction of the Central Party, the Government, and the special attention of President Ho Chi Minh, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee has continuously grown, making worthy contributions to the glorious revolutionary struggle of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

During the resistance war against French colonialism, on February 20, 1947, President Ho Chi Minh visited Thanh Hoa for the first time. At the meeting and talking with cadres and people in the province, he expressed his great confidence and expectation: “In my opinion, Thanh Hoa province must become a model province, because it has a large population, large land area, and a lot of wealth, but it only lacks management and arrangement”. He assigned the task to the Party Committee, army and people of Thanh Hoa province: “Thanh Hoa province must become a model province, so it must make all aspects of politics, economy and military a model. Be a model person, a model village, a model district, a model province. If you are determined to do it, you will become a model”. His profound and thoughtful instructions have shown the way and direction for the Provincial Party Committee to lead the entire people to successfully carry out the tasks of resistance, national construction, building Thanh Hoa into a large and strong rear base, actively contributing to the victory of the resistance war against French colonialism, culminating in the Dien Bien Phu victory.

During the resistance war against American imperialism, Thanh Hoa was one of the localities in the socialist North that suffered fierce attacks from the enemy. With special affection, President Ho Chi Minh visited Thanh Hoa three times. Talking to cadres, party members, armed forces and representatives of all classes of people in the province, he advised: “Cadres, party members and union members must truly volunteer to set an example in increasing production, practicing thrift, fighting against bureaucracy and commandism, fighting waste and embezzlement... Strive to develop and consolidate the Party and the Union; unite all people together to compete for progress. If we can do that, Thanh Hoa will surely become one of the best provinces in the North. If we can do that, our province will contribute worthily to the cause of building socialism in the North, creating a solid foundation for the struggle for national reunification”. Not letting him down, with intelligence, bravery and spirit of solidarity, closely attached to the people, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee led the armed forces and people of the province to establish many great feats: Making the Ham Rong Victory; together with the people and soldiers of the whole country, making the Great Victory of Spring 1975, opening the era of peace, national independence and moving towards socialism; together with the army and people of the whole country, maintaining independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity through the just fight to protect the southwestern border, the northern border and performing the noble international mission...

The rich and vivid reality of the Vietnamese revolution and of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee over the past 95 years has demonstrated that the correct and wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh is the leading factor determining all victories of our country's revolution. And it is also in that process that our Party has accumulated and drawn many valuable lessons, forging glorious traditions that today we have the responsibility to strive to preserve and promote.

It is the tradition of upholding the flag of national independence and socialism - the glorious flag that President Ho Chi Minh passed on to today's generation and future generations.

That is the tradition of promoting the strength of the People, the revolutionary cause is of the People, by the People and for the People; the strength of the Party lies in its close attachment to the People.

That is the tradition of constantly consolidating and strengthening solidarity: "Solidarity of the whole Party, solidarity of the whole people, national solidarity, international solidarity".

It is the tradition of combining national strength with the strength of the times, domestic strength with international strength.

That is the tradition of maintaining independence and autonomy in policies; firmly grasping, applying and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought; constantly enriching intelligence, improving political mettle, moral qualities and organizational capacity to be able to solve problems posed by revolutionary practice.

Identifying that 2025 is a year of special significance, a year of "acceleration and breakthrough", playing a key and decisive role in completing the goals of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021 - 2025, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh requested the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province to continue to unite, strive and be determined to realize the development goals, in which the highest focus is on leading and directing the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels, term 2020 - 2025.

Party committees, party organizations, all levels and sectors urgently review and continue to remove difficulties, obstacles and "bottlenecks" to boost production and business activities; speed up the implementation of investment projects in the province. Continue to promote digital transformation, develop digital economy, build digital citizens and digital infrastructure; gradually synchronize national databases on population, land and enterprises, creating a foundation for streamlining the apparatus and reforming administrative procedures substantially.

Continue to improve the quality of cultural, educational and health activities; effectively implement the work of job creation, poverty reduction and social security; accelerate the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province according to Directive No. 42 of the Prime Minister and Directive No. 22 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. Focus on leading and directing the arrangement of the political system's apparatus to ensure "streamlining - compactness - strength", "efficient - effective - effective" operations. At the same time, best prepare the conditions to successfully organize the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term, the 20th Provincial Party Congress.

At the seminar, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh awarded the 70-year Party membership badge on February 3, 2025 to party members Pham Thi Dinh and Vo Thi Tuyet in Ham Rong ward; and 75-year Party membership badge to party member Trinh Xuan Tham in Hoang Kim commune.
