*Hai Duong's rice output reaches about 700,000 tons/year.*

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, Hai Duong has about 112,000 hectares of rice, of which about 73% is high-quality rice. The average annual output is about 700,000 tons, mainly serving consumption in the province (about 500,000 tons), the rest is provided for national reserves, consumption in neighboring provinces and cities and for export.

To ensure food security, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province requires the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to proactively advise, direct, and manage the organization of rice production to ensure productivity, quality, and output to meet the food needs of the province and serve exports. Implement well the management of the quality of input materials (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, machinery and equipment...) serving rice production.

The Department of Industry and Trade closely monitors the market situation, world rice trade, and the movements of producing and exporting countries, promptly informing the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, localities, and rice traders and exporters to proactively regulate rice production, trading, and export activities. Research and develop pilot models to bring "traders" into the rice and paddy value chain to both promote their role as a bridge between people and businesses and limit possible risks for parties participating in the value chain. Direct, inspect, and supervise rice export business activities, ensuring compliance with legal regulations...

District People's Committees shall properly implement approved plans; maintain stable rice-growing land in accordance with allocation targets to ensure food security of the province and partly serve domestic consumption and export.

On March 2, the Prime Minister issued Directive No. 10/CT-TTg on promoting sustainable, transparent and effective production, trading and export of rice in the new situation.
