Most major European leagues are on winter break but the Christmas and New Year period is a busy week for the Premier League. Teams are playing back to back and the Premier League table can change rapidly.

In round 20, Man City has many chances to win when only meeting Sheffield United. The highlight of the round is the confrontation between Liverpool and Newcastle. The team at the top of the Premier League table will face an emerging "force" that is having difficulty with its personnel.

The 2023/2024 Premier League will run from August 2023 to May 2024. Sheffield United, Luton Town and Burnley will be promoted from the Championship, replacing Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton who were relegated last season.

The top four teams in the Premier League qualify for next season's Champions League. The fifth-placed team qualifies for the Europa League. Teams ranked 6-8 have a chance to play in European competitions (Europa League, Europa Conference League).
