On June 14, Weekly Bunshun published handwritten love letters between Ryoko Hirosue and chef Toba Shusaku after both admitted to cheating in their marriage. The newspaper did not reveal the identity of the person who provided the evidence but said that this was one of the ways the Japanese A-list actress communicated with her lover.
"They developed and nurtured that irresponsible love through handwritten letters and diaries," a source in the industry revealed.

Whenever they wrote to each other, they used nicknames to disguise their identities. In a letter written by Ryoko Hirosue to her lover in mid-May, the actress said she couldn't bear to leave Toba Shusaku. She cried a lot and felt empty when she was about to go abroad for more than 10 days on business. Ryoko Hirosue affirmed that Toba Shusaku was "the most important and beloved person to her in this world."
In response to his lover, Toba Shusaku said that Ryoko Hirosue is also the woman he loves the most and always wants to be by his side to bring happiness.
They also kept a diary recording their dating process, with many words of love beyond imagination. This diary was kept by Ryoko Hirosue and chef Toba Shusaku for more than 3 months after their extramarital relationship.
After meeting in 2022, Ryoko Hirosue and chef Toba Shusaku maintained a close working relationship. By March, they officially became lovers. Both chose to meet at Toba Shusaku's restaurant or a high-class hotel in Tokyo.
They only went to the hotel when Ryoko Hirosue's husband was away. The actress always went alone to check in first. Toba Shusaku would arrive an hour later, accompanied by a male assistant to the elevator door.
Before Weekly Bunshun's investigation, entertainment site FLASH discovered the abnormality of Ryoko Hirosue and Toba Shusaku. The chef born in 1978 bragged to his friends that he "had a relationship that not everyone understood with Ryoko Hirosue". However, FLASH 's process of monitoring and collecting evidence was unsuccessful due to both of them being highly vigilant.
It was not until June 7 that Weekly Bunshun "caught alive" Ryoko Hirosue and Toba Shusaku when they made an appointment to meet at a hotel. The meeting took place at 9:30 p.m. right after the Japanese beauty's husband left home for a business trip. Toba Shusaku's close friend shared with FLASH that the male chef's wife did not know about her husband's betrayal until the media exposed it.
According to Weekly Bunshun , before making the evidence public, they had privately contacted Ryoko Hirosue and Toba Shusaku to ask about the affair, but both denied it.
This morning, Ryoko Hirosue and Toba Shusaku wrote handwritten letters admitting their mistakes. They said they apologized to their families and would do their best to make up for their losses in the future. Ryoko Hirosue also announced an indefinite hiatus. She is currently being turned away by brands and film producers in Japan.
Born in 1980, Ryoko Hirosue was once known as "The Nation's Little Sister" and "The Last Beautiful Girl of the 20th Century". She is considered one of the national beauty treasures of Japanese showbiz.
In her personal life, Ryoko Hirosue married male model Okazawa Takahiro in 2003. After 5 years of marriage and having a son, they broke up. In 2010, the female star remarried artist Jun Izutsu, and had two children, a boy and a girl.
