Studying business administration, Nguyen Hoang Truong Giang (HCMC University of Industry and Trade) said he has long liked baking. With his family’s permission, Giang decided to enroll in this profession.

From 30-90 million VND

"I took a 24-day baking course that cost about 30 million VND. This profession is quite artistic, the more I learn, the more confident I become. I think I need a second job to supplement my current job. Many jobs are still better for me" - Giang confided.

Bui Gia Khanh (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics) said he studied international business at school, and at the same time chose to register to study graphics at Arena Multimedia.

"I have now studied three semesters of graphics, web interface design, app design and filmmaking... with a cost of about 80-90 million VND/5 semesters. I get preferential treatment and don't have to pay all the tuition at once, so it's less stressful.

I'm not good at drawing, so when I signed up to study graphic design, I hesitated and was afraid that studying these two fields would be contradictory" - Khanh shared.

According to Khanh, after studying graphic design for a year, he realized that graphic design knowledge is very helpful for international business, such as learning more about marketing and customer psychology...

Khanh added that at the present time, as a final year student, he is quite confident in his knowledge of economics and design.

"Usually, companies always want their employees to be multi-talented, able to do many jobs, in addition to their professional fields, they can also design, make videos and images. I have learned that way, so I will be more competitive than other students" - Khanh confidently said.

"Left hand" earns money to support "right hand"

Having a passion for calligraphy, Nguyen Hoai Van (Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts) said that since entering university, he has been involved in the school's calligraphy club.

"When I joined this subject, I did not expect such a sudden career opportunity. I got to meet my seniors, learn from them, and sometimes write at the calligraphy street at the Youth Cultural House. Besides, I still write for the Youth Union and Ward Union when needed.

With this job, I can make a lot of money during Tet and events that require calligraphers. Usually, the income from writing calligraphy after a Tet season can be up to 20 - 25 million VND. I use the extra income from this side job to support my family and pay for my tuition," Van said.

Van shared that if young people have time and passion, they should learn a side job such as crocheting, calligraphy, musical instruments... Moreover, when you have a "special talent", it will be easier to approach partners at work, have a more stable relationship, and not be afraid to participate in common movements.

Also studying graphic design for 2 years, Nguyen Phuc Bao Uyen (University of Natural Sciences, Ho Chi Minh City National University) said that her major is information technology, so studying graphic design also helps a lot in her main major.

"At first, I struggled to balance my study schedule between schoolwork and graphic design projects. Over time, I learned how to make a suitable study schedule, so everything became easier. Studying graphic design, I was able to take on more projects to do when I had free time. I feel more confident, active, and have more creative thinking," Uyen said.

More skills, more opportunities

Mr. Dinh Tri Dung, representative of Arena Multimedia, said that young people with additional skills are very beneficial in their work.

"Our school has three main groups of students, including students from colleges and universities; students who have completed high school; and people who are working and registered to study at the school.

The number of students registering for the 2.5-year long-term course (studying to become a professional) is 60%, the rest study to supplement their knowledge and gain additional skills to increase their ability to find a job," said Mr. Dung.

Có nghề vẫn học thêm nghề Have a profession but still learn another profession

TT - Currently, many people who are working or already have a job are still looking for ways to learn a new job or improve their skills to earn more income in difficult times.
