Doctor provokes opposing player

A VFF member said that late in the afternoon of December 11, the V-League organizing committee sent a document requesting the Disciplinary Board (VFF) to review and handle violations in round 5 of the V-League 2023-2024.

As reported by Thanh Nien , the match between Binh Dinh and Thanh Hoa teams in round 5 of V-League 2023 - 2024 on December 9 had a serious incident, greatly affecting the image of Vietnamese football in general and the tournament in particular.

In the 80th minute, when entering the field to take care of an injured Thanh Hoa player, Thanh Hoa team doctor Duong Tien Ky intentionally delayed the match, not allowing the stretcher team to carry the injured player off the field. This doctor also had a provocative attitude, behavior, and words towards the opposing player, causing agitation among the audience and was given a red card by referee Nguyen Trung Kien.

The Organizing Committee found that the referee's red card handling of Mr. Duong Tien Ky's actions in the 80th minute was not appropriate to the level of violation, so it requested the Disciplinary Committee to impose an appropriate heavier penalty on this doctor.

Deputy head of delegation cursed, igniting the conflict

After the match, some members of the coaching staff and players of Binh Dinh team gathered to provoke and swear at some players of Thanh Hoa club, including Binh Dinh's Deputy Head of Delegation Bui Vo Viet Tuan, who cursed at Thanh Hoa club players when they were moving into the tunnel of Quy Nhon stadium, leading to many players and coaching staff members of the two clubs rushing out to react, shouting and arguing fiercely. This incident caught the eyes of the audience, sparking the ugly actions of many extremist fans. Many water bottles and many other strange objects were thrown onto the field, hitting both Thanh Hoa team members and the police on duty on the field.

Referee Nguyen Trung Kien controlled the match and was met with backlash from many excited spectators.

Before and when the players and members of Thanh Hoa Club left, a large number of spectators and fans gathered to approach and surround Thanh Hoa Club's car, swearing and causing trouble, but security promptly approached, handled the situation, and used a guide car to bring Thanh Hoa's car back to the hotel safely.

Upon arriving at the hotel, a group of fans continued to surround the hotel area to protest and curse Thanh Hoa. At around 9:00 p.m. on December 9, the security forces were able to disperse the group of fans.

The tournament organizers propose to consider and take disciplinary action against the coaching staff of Binh Dinh Club for reacting and swearing at players and members of the coaching staff of Thanh Hoa Club after the match, causing chaos and inciting the audience, leading to insecurity and unsafety in the A stands after the match ended.

In particular, consider and take strict action against the Deputy Head of Quy Nhon Binh Dinh delegation because the violation of this official is one of the main causes leading to the chaos and subsequent reactions between members of the two clubs, causing agitation, leading to a series of subsequent reactions from the audience and supporters towards Thanh Hoa. It is recommended to consider and take strict action against the organizers of the match against Binh Dinh Club. Although security forces have been deployed and measures have been taken to promptly handle incidents that have occurred, no unfortunate incidents have occurred. However, there is still subjectivity, lack of forecasting and preventive measures; the control to ensure security and safety in the stands is not appropriate and is still passive.

A member of the VFF Disciplinary Board said that on December 12, the board will meet to consider the proposals of the tournament organizing committee.
