Tamara Hinson, a writer for the prestigious travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller, spent two weeks exploring Vietnam at the end of last year. From the vibrant life of the big cities, the breathtaking central coast to the attractive culture and cuisine, Vietnam has made Tamara evaluate it as the most diverse destination in Asia.
Besides, after her long journey, the female reporter also suggested hotels that tourists should choose when coming to Vietnam.
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

“The most luxurious hotel in Da Nang” is Tamara’s assessment when choosing InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort as her place to stay when coming to the city of Han River. Located on Son Tra peninsula – known as the “green lung” of Da Nang, the resort appears in Tamara’s writing as a valuable stopover in her two-week journey to explore Vietnam.
Designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley, InterContinental Danang is not simply a resort but an architectural masterpiece, blending Vietnamese elements such as Hue royal tiled roofs, giant Hoi An lanterns... and the most luxurious, sophisticated, and modern amenities in the world.
CN Traveller's writer was also impressed with the culinary journey here, introducing La Maison 1888 as the first restaurant in Da Nang to receive a Michelin star.

The space is styled in an old French villa, combined with top-notch fine dining dishes served as an artistic ritual, making the experience here valuable and unforgettable. Meanwhile, Citron restaurant is described with an impressive design of upside-down conical-shaped compartments, one of the most famous check-in spots of the resort that is always sought after by tourists. To relax, visitors are also suggested to enjoy drinks while watching the sunset at the end of the day at the Barefoot bar on the beautiful beach of Son Tra peninsula.
Capella Hanoi
In Hanoi, Tamara suggests Capella Hanoi as an ideal stopover. Not only does it have a prime location in the center, right next to Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Opera House, the entire hotel is also an impressive architectural mark, like a miniature opera house honoring classical beauty.

“The bedrooms are filled with gold leaf, filled with stage props and elaborate performance costumes,” CN Traveler described, admiring the meticulous design inside each room of Capella Hanoi.
Not only impressive in terms of architecture, the health and spiritual care experiences at Capella Hanoi are also highly appreciated. Tamara experienced the spa at Auriga, which she rated as “perfect for relaxing after a long trip”. Here, visitors can experience the energy regeneration treatment based on the lunar cycle (Full Moon – Balance & Recharge) in a space designed with the imprint of Vietnamese royal palaces.

Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery Sa Pa
Among the hotels that the CN Traveller reporter chose to stay at, perhaps Hotel de la Coupole – Mgallery Sa Pa was the place that impressed her the most, as every moment, whether early morning or late afternoon, left Tamara with unforgettable experiences.
Amidst the majestic natural picture of mountains and forests, typical of Sa Pa's fog, Hotel de la Coupole appears like a beautiful European palace of the 1920s - 1930s, "with giant chandeliers in the lobby and armchairs like sculptures".

After a long day exploring Fansipan peak by funicular and cable car, dinner at Chic restaurant at Hotel de la Coupole is the perfect choice to enjoy a special menu, celebrating the combination of French and Northwest Vietnamese cuisine. The dish that impressed Tamara the most was Sa Pa salmon made ceviche style, combined with mango and caviar.
At Hotel de la Coupole, guests can also experience the Le Grand Bassins swimming pool, which the female reporter described as “monstrously elaborate, with pink chandeliers and emerald green stone columns”. Then, at the hotel spa, guests’ health will be restored with the Soothing Steps therapy, designed to promote circulation and soothe aching limbs. The highlight is the herbal foot bath (red Dao leaves) very typical of Sa Pa, pushed to the maximum level of luxury.

It is known that all three hotels above are resort masterpieces of Sun Group and designed by famous architect Bill Bensley, continuously honored by international media since their launch. Not only that, these resorts all provide impressive culinary and health care experiences, helping visitors easily recover their health during long trips.
