Alcaraz reaches 160 wins, waiting for match with Nadal

After defeating Camilo Ugo Carabeli 6-2, 7-5 on the evening of February 15, Carlos Alcaraz entered the quarterfinals of the Argentina Open 2024. This is Alcaraz's 10th consecutive win against opponents from Argentina.

The Spaniard has 160 wins in 204 ATP matches. Alcaraz is on track to win the 2024 Argentina Open when he only faces underdog Andrea Vavassori in the quarterfinals.

Alcaraz's biggest rival at the ATP 250 tournament is Cameron Norrie, who unexpectedly lost to home player Federico Coria 2-6, 6-4, 3-6. Fourth seed Fransico Cerundolo also stopped in his opening match against Diaz Acosta. Opponents who could cause trouble for Alcaraz are Nicolas Jarry, Sebastian Baez and Tomas Etcheverry.

After the Argentina Open, Alcaraz will play an exhibition match against Rafael Nadal on March 3 in Las Vegas. The match will be broadcast live on Netflix worldwide, attracting a large audience. Tickets to the event are sold for $3,000 for prime seats and have already sold out.

Rafael Nadal has confirmed that he will not attend the 2024 ATP 250 Qatar Open in Doha next week: "I love Doha very much because I always receive a lot of love there. But I cannot compete this year. I will continue to work towards the friendly match in Las Vegas and the tournament in Indian Wells."

Indian Wells 2024 will take place in the US from March 6 to March 17. In addition to Nadal and Alcaraz, many of the world's top stars will participate such as Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner.
