The announcement comes as several BTS members are currently on hiatus due to mandatory military service in South Korea. Big Hit Music announced that BTS' Suga has begun his military service. The group's hiatus is expected to continue until 2025, with all seven members expected to complete their mandatory service in the next few years. Jin and J-Hope are currently serving in the military.
Back in 2019, BTS were allowed to postpone their military service until they turned 30. In 2020, a new law allowed Koreans who excelled in popular culture and arts to do the same.
V previously released his solo song "Christmas Tree" in 2021, which was featured in the popular Netflix drama "Our Beloved Summer." He also released a version of the classic Christmas song "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" the following year.
