Ford Ranger 2025 adds Super Duty version, will it come to Vietnam?

When it comes to versions of the Ranger pickup truck, Ford never seems to run out of ideas. Over the past time, the American brand has continuously introduced new versions of this pickup truck. The latest of which is the new 2025 Ford Ranger Super Duty in the Australian market.

For fans of the Ford brand, the name Super Duty is no longer strange. This is the name used to call the heavy-duty version of the Ford F-Series full-size pickup truck. Now, the mid-size pickup truck Ford Ranger has its own Super Duty version .

In the Super Duty version, the Ford Ranger has a stronger, more rugged appearance and superior performance. The most obvious highlight is the more muscular appearance of the Ford Ranger Super Duty. This model is proof that a work vehicle can still look attractive.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty pickup truck has its own grille design, unlike the other versions of this pickup truck line. Besides, there is a large front bumper, an embossed hood with the word "Super Duty", extended wheel arches, snorkels on the A-pillars and 18-inch alloy wheels with General Grabber off-road tires.

Inside, the Super Duty has a similar interior to the rest of the Ford Ranger lineup, with durable plastics instead of soft-touch surfaces, fabric seats, an 8-inch digital dashboard, and a 12-inch vertical infotainment screen.

The distinguishing feature of this version is the embossed “Super Duty” lettering on the dashboard, opposite the front passenger seat. Not only does it have an eye-catching appearance, the Ford Ranger Super Duty also attracts attention with its performance. The vehicle is equipped with a 3.0L V6 Power Stroke diesel engine shared with the Wildtrak version.

Although official performance specifications have not been announced, they will certainly be higher than the current 250 horsepower and 600 Nm. In addition, the car also has 6 driving modes, including Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Mud/Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl.

Ford's advanced 4WD system with 4A (automatic 4WD) mode is also standard. To serve long trips, the Ford Ranger Super Duty's fuel tank capacity has been increased from 80 liters to 130 liters, along with a thick protective steel layer.

The engine, front differential lock, transfer case and main transmission are also protected by anti-impact steel plates. True to the name Super Duty, the load and towing capacity of this version is extremely impressive. Accordingly, the vehicle has a total weight of 4,500 kg, a towing capacity of 4,500 kg and a total combined weight with a trailer of 8,000 kg.

In addition, the vehicle is also equipped with a stiffer front/rear drive shaft, a larger and more durable rear differential lock. In particular, this is the first time the Ford Ranger line has the Smart Hitch and Onboard Scales feature to help users balance the trailer load and estimate the weight of goods thanks to sensors on the suspension system.

According to the plan, the Ford Ranger Super Duty will start being sold in the Australian, New Zealand and Thai markets from 2026. It is not yet clear whether Ford plans to bring this model to Vietnam or not. In Vietnam, the Ranger is currently the "golden goose" of the Ford brand.
