In recent days, many people in Da Nang city have been quite surprised to report that a large amount of soil and rock has been dumped into the Han River along Chuong Duong Street (in Ngu Hanh Son District). |
According to the reporter's records, on the morning of April 5, from the Tran Thi Ly bridge area upstream of the Han River, about 200 - 300 meters of rock and soil were dumped. Many sections protruded into the river nearly ten meters. |
The dumping was done outside the embankment and was not covered, causing the soil and rocks to slide down into the Han River. |
After filling, some rock positions are filled with sand and gravel to cover the surface layer. |
Encroachment on the Han River in large projects used to be a "hot" issue for public opinion because it contained many potential risks and disrupted the planning and landscape along both river banks. |
Since the end of 2023, the People's Committee of Da Nang City has agreed and approved the pilot project to organize tourism services across Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and the East Bank Park - the foot of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. The pilot period will take place from the first quarter of 2024 to the end of 2028. |
However, the pilot plan to organize tourism services across Nguyen Van Troi bridge and the east bank park - foot of Nguyen Van Troi bridge does not have any items that are allowed to dump soil or encroach on the Han River. |
Speaking to Tien Phong reporter, a leader of Da Nang Department of Construction said: We have received the information and are coordinating with Ngu Hanh Son district to verify. When we have results, we will provide specific information about this incident. |
