Sovereign AI is the affirmation of technology

FPT Corporation attended the AI4VN 2024 event that recently took place in Hanoi and made a strong impression through presentations on hot topics such as sovereign AI, generative AI development infrastructure, etc. to enhance the competitiveness of the Vietnamese economy.

Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day AI4VN 2024 brings together AI experts, scientists, and leading domestic and international technology companies to discuss the latest trends in the field of artificial intelligence.

At this year’s event, FPT Corporation brought unique perspectives on Sovereign AI and infrastructure resources to promote AI applications and increase competitiveness for the Vietnamese economy. Through this, FPT representatives emphasized the importance of building an AI ecosystem based on Vietnam’s data platform, thereby helping to protect national interests and create real values ​​for the economy.

Mr. Le Hong Viet, CEO of FPT Smart Cloud, representing FPT Corporation, gave a speech on the importance of developing sovereign AI in Vietnam. Mr. Viet affirmed: “Current national competitiveness is not human, but human combined with AI. The strategy of promoting sovereign AI will help Vietnam increase national competitiveness through increased labor productivity and automation.”

Faced with the great opportunities and challenges brought by AI, Mr. Viet emphasized that FPT Smart Cloud promotes sovereign AI, including five major pillars: infrastructure, data, technology platform, human resources and business ecosystem. The $200 million investment deal to cooperate with NVIDIA to build an AI Factory in March 2024 shows the group's determination to be self-reliant in infrastructure, master data, and promote AI research and development. FPT has also put into operation an AI Research Center in Quy Nhon with a scale of more than 5,000 employees.

Also speaking at the event, Dr. Tran The Trung - Deputy Director of AI Product Division, FPT Smart Cloud, Director of FPT Research Institute said: "AI, especially generative AI, is a technology that requires much larger computing infrastructure capacity than traditional AI and this is a barrier for Vietnamese enterprises when accessing this technology".

At the AI ​​Awards 2024 ceremony within the framework of the event, the FPT AI Mentor solution developed by FPT Smart Cloud was honored to win the title of “Outstanding AI Solution”. Also within the framework of the award ceremony, the AI ​​programming support solution CodeVista from the AI ​​Center, FPT Software was honored to be ranked in the Top 5 Outstanding Artificial Intelligence Application Products.

At the AI4VN 2024 Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Festival, FPT once again affirmed its commitment to promoting the development of AI in Vietnam. Not only investing in research and development of advanced made-by-Vietnam AI solutions, the group also actively cooperates with domestic and foreign technology partners to build a strong AI ecosystem.
