Accordingly, 7 general and specialized hospitals supporting Thu Duc Regional General Hospital include: Gia Dinh People's Hospital, Binh Dan Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Heart Institute, Eye Hospital, Children's Hospital 2, Oncology Hospital and Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology officially signed a cooperation agreement to support the transfer of specialized techniques to Thu Duc Regional General Hospital.
According to the planning of the Ho Chi Minh City health sector, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital, along with Oncology Hospital 2, Thu Duc City Hospital, Le Van Thinh Hospital, Le Van Viet Hospital, Eastern Military Hospital, Hoan My Thu Duc General Hospital, American International Hospital and many new general and specialized hospitals continue to be invested in and developed to form the Thu Duc Specialized Medical Cluster.
According to Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, to consolidate and promote the development of resources and complete the specialties of a general hospital with full specialties, the hospital needs to focus on developing key specialties such as: emergency, resuscitation, internal medicine, pediatrics, diagnostic imaging, testing, pathology, etc.
In addition, strongly develop the specialties of trauma emergency (neurology, chest, abdomen, maxillofacial...) and general surgery (including cancer surgery and chemotherapy, palliative care), thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic trauma surgery, obstetrics and gynecology surgery...
At the same time, synchronously develop the remaining specialties to meet the diverse needs in medical examination and treatment and emergency care of a general hospital, noting that priority should be given to developing individual specialties (eye, maxillofacial, ear, nose and throat) and rehabilitation specialties.
