Aeon seeks Vietnamese partners to supply goods to international markets

Ahead of the event series “Connecting the international supply chain” (Vietnam International Sourcing 2024) held in Ho Chi Minh City from June 6-8, 2024, General Director of Aeon TopValu Vietnam Shiotani Yuichiro said that he has high expectations when continuing to participate in this major purchasing event.

Accordingly, during the recent working session with the Department of European - American Markets (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Mr. Shiotani Yuichiro shared and highly appreciated the remarkable results when Aeon TopValu participated in the event Viet Nam International Sourcing 2023.

Mr. Shiotani Yuichiro said that through Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024, Aeon TopValu has found suppliers to export products to the Aeon system in countries such as China, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. Aeon TopValu said that this group has a demand for Vietnamese agricultural products and processed foods because the demand in the markets where Aeon is present is still very large.

“ Aeon TopValu will continue to mobilize a large number of purchasing representatives in the system, from many countries; including China, Japan, Thailand and Malaysia to Vietnam to participate in “Connecting the international supply chain of goods” 2024 ” - Mr. Shiotani Yuichiro said and affirmed that Aeon will also continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade in organizing Vietnamese Goods Week in Japan in 2024, these programs will create a series of events to expand opportunities for Vietnamese goods to access the most demanding market in Asia.

According to the latest information from the Organizing Committee, some of the areas that Aeon hopes to find partners through this series of events include: Agricultural products (including fresh and dried goods), frozen goods, processed foods...

Aeon Group representative said that the main goal of the purchasing delegation is to find manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam that have the capacity and meet Aeon's criteria and standards to become sustainable supply partners not only in Vietnam but also in the global Aeon TopValu system. The delegation will also visit raw material areas, growing areas, manufacturing plants, etc.

In particular, the Organizing Committee hopes that through systematic purchasing activities, many domestic export enterprises will have more opportunities to find outlets for products such as official agricultural products, to key markets in the region through the group's value chain.

Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024 will include many major activities such as: Export Forum "Connecting international supply chains"; seminars, trade connection activities and Exhibition Connecting international supply chains 2024 - Viet Nam International Sourcing Expo 2024.

The series of events is an activity to actively implement the Project "Promoting Vietnamese enterprises to directly participate in foreign distribution networks by 2030" approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1415/QD-TTg dated November 14, 2022. Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade assigned the Department of European - American Markets and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City assigned the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) to coordinate with relevant units to organize the series of events.

According to the European - American Market Department, with a scale of 10,000 m2 for 500 businesses in industries with Vietnamese strengths and international distributors and retailers in need such as: Food, textiles, footwear, backpacks, handbags, sports and outdoor goods, household appliances and furniture, supporting industries... The event promises to attract 10,000 visitors, trading with 300 international delegations from 30 countries and territories.

This year's event also recorded the interest of major corporations in the world. During the 3 days of Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024, specialized seminars and useful trade connections will be held throughout, with the participation of major corporations: Typically Aeon, Uniqlo (Japan); Walmart, Amazon, Boeing, AES (USA), Carrefour, Decathlon (France); Central Group (Thailand); Coppel (Mexico); IKEA (Sweden), LuLu (UAE) ...

In addition to the goal of promoting exports, Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024 also has additional sideline activities to support businesses in improving their capacity and developing sustainably when entering the global market.
