As of September 16, due to the impact of storm No. 3, the entire Yen Bai province still had 5 schools and 1 school location that were not open, including: Ly Thuong Kiet High School, Yen Bai city; a kindergarten in Viet Thanh commune, Tran Yen district; 2 primary schools in Hong Thai and Yen Ninh, Yen Bai city; an inter-level school in Minh Chuan commune, Luc Yen district and Nga Quan commune school, Tran Yen district.
At Ly Thuong Kiet High School, Yen Bai city, mud is nearly 1 meter deep and is being cleared by forces.

This morning, overcoming all difficulties after the flood receded, nearly 1,300 students of Nguyen Thai Hoc Primary School, Yen Bai City returned to school as usual. Principal Dinh Thi Thu Phuong said that due to heavy rain, the flag salute ceremony was not held in 32 classrooms at the beginning of the week, taking time for teachers and students to visit and share with each other about the impacts and damage caused by storm No. 3.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3, Nguyen Thai Hoc Primary School was submerged in nearly 2m of water. With a proactive and urgent spirit, the school mobilized forces along with officials, teachers, staff and parents to clean up, disinfect the school, and prepare conditions to welcome students back.
