Brilliant colors of Su flowers in sketches

NDO - After 3 days of exploring and sketching Tam Ky within the framework of the "Tam Ky - Sua Flower Season 2025" Festival (Quang Nam), members of the Hanoi Urban Sketching Group have completed 50 unique sketches. The works focus on depicting tangible and intangible cultural heritage, reflecting the beauty of life, architecture, customs and people here, especially in Huong Tra village, a place rich in local cultural traditions.

The long stretches of sưa trees, the rows of trees dyed in the sun, carry the beauty of an entire village, of simple, honest people. All have been brought into the sketch, becoming part of the journey connecting art with heritage, so that each stroke, each color is a bridge spreading love for the homeland and preserving cultural beauty.

Sharing about the impressions of this Tam Ky sketching journey, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Head of the Hanoi Urban Sketching Group, said, “This is the second time we have come to Tam Ky, in the atmosphere of the Tam Ky Sua Flower Festival 2025, the sketching group is very excited. We get to visit historical sites bearing the heritage mark of this land, waiting for the Sua flowers to bloom at night, when seeing the bright yellow petals, everyone bursts into happiness. We wish to bring those emotions to our sketches. And the 50 paintings were completed with all the enthusiasm of the whole group when immersed in the wonderful heritage space”.

Tam Ky, a convergence of art and emotion , where every street and corner contains a story waiting to be told through color, lines and art.

“ My impression is the peaceful natural landscape with simple and generous people. There are many historical relics associated with this land, but especially the riverside sua flower road with rows of ancient sua trees, beautiful and poetic. I want to record those emotions through sketches and hope to spread them to domestic and international friends so that they can know and explore this land together,” shared Architect Nguyen Hoang Lam, member of the Hanoi Urban Sketching Group.

The sketches are currently on display at Huong Tra Temple (Tam Ky City, Quang Nam), promising to become an impressive cultural highlight, contributing to enriching tourism experiences and spreading the love of art to a large number of visitors from near and far.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Ky City (Quang Nam) said: " In a very short time, the members of the group went to famous places to sketch and leave their mark with 50 meaningful works. We are the ones who have been attached to and lived here, but just looking at the sketches, we can see so much love, memories, and appreciation for the heritage. The works of the Hanoi Urban Sketching Group are part of this year's Festival, are the highlight and make the journey of spreading the historical significance and the brilliant yellow color of this flower associated with Tam Ky more beautiful than ever".
