41 contestants enter the final round of Miss Vietnam 2024

For the first time, the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest will organize nationwide recruitment. The Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2024 continues to adhere to the criteria of honoring natural beauty, not accepting candidates who have undergone cosmetic surgery, this year emphasizing four core values: Beauty, Culture, Intelligence and Dedication.

On March 20, in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee of the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest, including Tien Phong Newspaper and Hoang Thanh Media Joint Stock Company, held a press conference to announce the final round of Miss Vietnam 2024.

The exciting recruitment journey started in December 2024. The Miss Vietnam 2024 contest only had nearly 2 months to receive applications and recruit students, but it received the support and trust of many candidates.

The Organizing Committee (OC) received the largest number of applications in history, with more than 300 applications after the preliminary round. The record number proves the prestige and reputation of the contest, which has been around for more than 36 years. This is also the only national-scale contest with a National Steering Committee including: Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Education and Training.

The Organizing Committee said that for the first time, the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest organized a nationwide recruitment, starting in Hanoi with an admission exchange program at schools such as: Diplomatic Academy, Hanoi National University, University of Foreign Languages - Danang University (January 15), Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, Open University of Ho Chi Minh City, University of Finance - Marketing and stopping at Hue University (February 28). The series of recruitment activities attracted thousands of students interested in the contest, including hundreds of students who were candidates. The top 41 outstanding candidates entered the Final Round of the Miss Vietnam Preliminary Round held on March 9 in Ho Chi Minh City and March 13 in Hanoi. The number of applications in the Northern Preliminary Round was nearly double that of the Southern region. Candidates went through the following testing rounds: anthropometric testing and direct interviews with the Jury.

The Preliminary Round Jury consists of prestigious faces with experience in the field of beauty from the fields of culture, society, education, and are Misses and runners-up of Miss Vietnam through the years. The Anthropometric Judges are highly qualified and prestigious doctors. In some cases, the Organizing Committee invites independent experts to assess to ensure accurate and objective results and protect the rights of the candidates. As a result of fair and objective work and careful consideration among many promising candidates, the Jury has selected 41 most outstanding candidates to enter the Final Round of Miss Vietnam 2024.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2024, commented: "The contestants entering the Final Round are of high quality, excellent in both beauty, intelligence and talent. Nearly 99% of the contestants are students, university graduates, many of whom come from large, prestigious universities. The anthropometric results show harmonious beauty, many outstanding indicators, including height reaching 1m80. Some contestants have enviable bodies. Many contestants can speak two or three languages fluently, many have talents such as singing, dancing, presenting... The most gratifying thing is that they are all very confident. Miss Vietnam is not only looking for worthy beauty but also for girls with warm hearts, responsible for the community. Many candidates share touching stories, inspiring the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the desire to contribute".

Reality TV for the first time Immediately after selecting the best candidates in the Northern Preliminary Round, the 41 best contestants entered the common house to record for the reality TV show. Along with innovations in scale and criteria, the Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2024 produced reality TV for the first time to give contestants a space to operate and experience diversely, at the same time, it is an opportunity for contestants to show off their beauty, talent and leave a stronger impression in the public's mind.

The program will consist of 10 episodes, divided into 3 phases with the following topics: "Brilliant Origin"; "National Final"; "Rising Brightly". In this journey, 4 ambassadors were selected including: Tourism and Environment, Charity, Sports and Fashion, Media and Arts . As a producer, Miss Huong Giang said that each episode must be approved and strictly controlled by the Organizing Committee and the Jury.

During the journey of the Final Round, 41 contestants, in addition to various activities in Hue, Hanoi,... will be present at an important event - the 66th Tien Phong Marathon National Championship in Quang Tri. Miss Vietnam 2024 contestants and thousands of athletes will stride on the heroic land, singing the song of victory in the event towards the great anniversary - 50 years of Quang Tri liberation, 50 years of national reunification.

Mr. Hoang Tho Ninh, General Director of Hoang Thanh Media Joint Stock Company, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2024 shared: "In 2024, Miss Vietnam has officially returned to compete with a completely new look - organized for the first time as a reality TV show. This is an innovation that marks a change but still retains the unique color of Miss Vietnam. Each reality TV episode will bring stories and experiences of the contestants and most of all, the contestants will have the opportunity to show more of their personalities and reveal their talents. From here, the audience will understand better and have the closest perspective on the Miss Vietnam contestants as well as the girl named for the noble title of this year's contest."

Regarding the scale of the prize, Mr. Hoang Tho Ninh said that the new Miss received a cash prize of 500 million VND, the first runner-up received 300 million VND, and the second runner-up received 200 million VND. In addition, the Top 3 also received many other valuable prizes in kind.

Miss Vietnam 2024 has received the attention of the public, media agencies and especially sponsors. Their support has contributed to the success of the contest, affirming the position of the leading and prestigious beauty contest in Vietnam. The Miss Vietnam 2024 Final Night is scheduled to take place in Hanoi in April 2025, promising to explode with competitions and modern, eye-catching art programs.
