American magazine Fortune announced the list of "Asia's Most Powerful Women in 2024", in which three Vietnamese businesswomen made the top.

The Fortune 100 Most Powerful Women in Asia list recognizes women who are redefining leadership by transforming companies, changing the face of industries, driving growth, innovating technology, and improving business performance, while inspiring the next generation of leaders. Compiled by Fortune editors, the list includes 53 CEOs, 26 chairmen, and 11 CFOs. Over ten percent of the women on the list are entrepreneurs who founded the companies they lead, including Grace Wang, Luxshare Precision Industry (No. 1), Miranda Qu, Xiaohongshu (No. 60), Sung Suk Suh, Cosmax (No. 64), and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Biocon (No. 74). The ranking features 31 leaders from China, 14 leaders from Thailand, 9 leaders from Japan, 9 leaders from Singapore, 8 leaders from India, 7 leaders from South Korea, 7 leaders from the Philippines, 6 leaders from Australia, 4 leaders from Malaysia, 3 leaders from Vietnam, and 2 leaders from Indonesia. Three Vietnamese businesswomen in the list of "The Most Powerful Women in Asia 2024" are Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of VietJet Air, Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem - General Director of Sacombank and Ms. Mai Kieu Lien - General Director of Vinamilk. According to Fortune, the "pink shadows" in the list of the most powerful businesswomen in Asia - Pacific have brought innovation, breakthroughs and promoted growth. Of which, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is ranked 66th on the list. Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is the founder of Vietjet Air in 2011 and is the first female billionaire in Vietnam to appear on the Forbes list with assets of up to 2.9 billion USD. Ranked 71st on the list is Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem, Vice Chairman and CEO of Sacombank. Ms. Diem joined the bank in 2002 and was appointed CEO in 2017, two years after this retail bank merged with Southern Commercial Bank. Ms. Mai Kieu Lien, General Director of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) ranked 75th on the list. Vinamilk is the largest food and beverage company listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) with a market capitalization of 6 billion USD.Laodong.vn
