2 specialized schools in Ho Chi Minh City stop recruiting non-specialized classes

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just announced that from the 2024 entrance exam, the city will stop enrolling non-specialized 10th graders at the city's two specialized schools.

This is done according to Circular 05/2023 of the Ministry of Education and Training dated February 28, 2023 promulgating the Regulations on organization and operation of specialized high schools. Accordingly, enrollment in non-specialized classes in specialized schools will only be carried out until the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Non-specialized classes that have been recruited and organized in specialized high schools will continue to be implemented until students finish grade 12.

It is known that in the 2023-2024 school year, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted will recruit 180 non-specialized grade 10 students, and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted will recruit 90 non-specialized grade 10 students.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the 10th grade entrance exam in 2024 is expected to take place in early June 2024 with three subjects: Literature, Math and Foreign Language. Students taking the specialized and integrated 10th grade entrance exam will take additional specialized and integrated subjects.
