Pepper export turnover increased by 45.6%

(GLO)- According to preliminary statistics of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in March 2025, Vietnam exported 20,244 tons of pepper, worth 141.6 million USD (up 41.3% in volume and 45.6% in value compared to February 2025).

Of which, black pepper exports reached 17,493 tons, white pepper reached 2,751 tons.

The average export price of black pepper in March 2025 reached 6,790 USD/ton (an increase of 122 USD compared to February 2025) and white pepper reached 8,802 USD/ton (an increase of 268 USD compared to February 2025).

In terms of markets, the US continued to be the largest importer of Vietnamese pepper in March 2025 with 4,388 tons (up 46% compared to February 2025). Next were the Indian markets with 1,609 tons (up 110.1% compared to February 2025); Germany with 1,543 tons (up 70.5% compared to February 2025); UAE with 1,277 tons (up 46.8% compared to February 2025) and Hong Kong (China) with 717 tons (up 51.3% compared to February 2025).

The largest pepper exporting enterprises in March 2025 included: Olam Vietnam (2,183 tons, up 45.7% compared to February 2025); Nedspice Vietnam (1,975 tons, up 18.5% compared to February 2025); Phuc Sinh (1,859 tons, up 46.3% compared to February 2025); Tran Chau (1,317 tons, up 100% compared to February 2025) and Haprosimex JSC (1,270 tons, up 96.9% compared to February 2025).

On the other hand, in March 2025, Vietnam imported 4,940 tons of pepper, worth nearly 29 USD (up 68.7% in volume and 81.3% in value compared to February 2025). Of which, black pepper reached 4,072 tons and white pepper reached 868 tons.
