Ukrainian media affirms it wants to end conflict with Russia in 2025

Mr. Sybiha said that the resolution of the conflict will have a profound impact on the future security architecture of Europe. In addition, Foreign Minister Sybiha also mentioned that Ukraine wants the issue of joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to remain on the international agenda. According to Mr. Sybiha, with 110 combat-ready brigades, Ukraine can make a significant contribution to the security of the transatlantic region.

On April 12, Ukrainian officials accused Russia of launching a series of drones into Ukraine at night, injuring four people and damaging residential and commercial buildings in Kiev and elsewhere. Ukrainian air defense forces also reported shooting down 56 of 88 Russian drones.

Earlier, on April 11, US special envoy Steve Witkoff held the latest talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, while US President Donald Trump called on his Russian counterpart to quickly end the so-called “senseless war” in Ukraine. Mr. Trump is urging both Moscow and Kiev to reach a ceasefire agreement, but has not been able to gain any significant concessions from Russia despite continuous negotiations. According to Ukraine and some Western allies, Russia is deliberately prolonging the negotiations.
