Today (November 16), Tay Ninh Provincial Police announced that the Provincial Police Investigation Agency has initiated a case and prosecuted Pham Van Tien (36 years old) and Dang Thanh Tuan (44 years old, both residing in Dong Nai province) to investigate the act of illegally transporting drugs.

Previously, on November 6, about 100 police officers from the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Ministry of Public Security and professional units to divide into 5 working groups to arrest a group illegally transporting drugs.

While Tien and Tuan were transferring drugs from the car to a house in an alley in Hiep Tan ward (Hoa Thanh town, Tay Ninh province), the police caught them red-handed with nearly 60kg of synthetic drugs and related evidence.

Notably, during the inspection of the suspects' residence, police discovered a gun and 11 bullets.

Expanding the investigation, the authorities have detained 5 more subjects involved in this network.

Initial investigation results determined that since July 2024, a subject in Cambodia used the Telegram application to hire Tien and Tuan to transport drugs from the border to the interior with a salary of 800 USD/kg of drugs.

Before delivering the drugs in Vietnam, the Cambodian subject hired someone to transport the drugs from Cambodia to Vietnam and then gathered them in the border area of ​​Tan Chau district, Tay Ninh province.

Then, the subjects divided the drugs into small pieces from 1 to 5kg, and gave them to shippers to transport to Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces for consumption.

During the transportation, the subjects always carried guns and weapons, and hired people to act as lookouts to avoid detection.
