Pepper prices today, March 25, 2025, in the domestic market remained stable in some key localities, trading from 159,000 - 160,500 VND/kg.
Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 159,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (159,000 VND/kg); Dak Lak (160,000 VND/kg); Dak Nong (160,500 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (159,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (159,000 VND/kg).
Thus, pepper prices today continue to move sideways in key growing areas. The highest pepper price is at 160,500 VND/kg.
According to Ptexim's latest report, during the week of March 16-23, demand improved in many markets such as the European Union (EU), Asia and the US, while the Chinese market remained gloomy.
In March, Vietnam is expected to export only 16,000 - 18,000 tons of pepper. The total export volume in the first 3 months of 2025 reached 43,000 - 45,000 tons, the lowest level in the past 6 years.
The current domestic pepper price in Vietnam is VND160,000/kg, up 68.4% compared to the same period in 2024 (VND95,000/kg). The sharp decline in exports and high prices are signs that pepper supply in 2025 will be much lower than in 2024.
Regarding the harvest progress, according to Ptexim's survey, Dak Nong has harvested about 70% of the area; Dak Lak is 40%; Lam Dong: 60%; the remaining localities such as Gia Lai, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau have harvested about 50%.
Although 50-60% of the crop has been harvested, farmers still hold on to their goods and do not want to sell.
In the context of this year's late harvest and farmers limiting sales, processing enterprises have increased pepper imports from other producing countries.
In the world market, at the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,241 USD/ton, down 0.36%; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 7,000 USD/ton; the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA at 9,900 USD/ton.
Muntok white pepper price is 10,069 USD/ton, down 1.37%; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 12,400 USD/ton.
Vietnamese black pepper prices are trading at 7,100 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 7,300 USD/ton for 550 g/l; and 10,100 USD/ton for white pepper. Indonesian pepper prices are falling amid a recovery in the US dollar.
