The team of officers and soldiers of the 12th Army Corps and engineers and workers of many units are focusing on speeding up the construction progress so that the projects can ensure the "critical" progress, reaching the finish line on schedule.

Construction through Tet on Phong Chau bridge project
The investment project to build the new Phong Chau bridge - National Highway 32C, Phu Tho province has a total investment of 635,392 billion VND, with Thang Long Project Management Board assigned as the investor. The project has a length of about 652.88m, starting from Km0+00 (about Km21+50.0/National Highway 32C avoiding Viet Tri city), in Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district; ending point Km0+652.88 (about Km18+551.4/National Highway 32C), in Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district. In which, the length of Phong Chau bridge is about 383.3m (calculated to the end of the abutment); the road section at both ends of the bridge connecting to the existing road on Lam Thao side is about 113.8m; on Tam Nong side is about 155.78m. The bridge width of 20.5m is suitable for the roadbed width, with 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles.
The early reconstruction of Phong Chau Bridge has received close attention and direction from General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and other Party and State leaders. With such urgency, the Prime Minister has decided to allow the implementation of the project to build a new Phong Chau Bridge under the emergency construction order and required it to be completed and put into operation in 2025.
In that spirit, the Ministry of Transport has focused and resolutely directed relevant agencies and units to urgently work with the highest sense of responsibility to approve the project and complete procedures according to legal regulations to implement the project in the fastest time.
Immediately after the Minister of Transport issued the groundbreaking order (December 21, 2024), contractors began construction of the project. To ensure the completion of the project as planned, during the Lunar New Year 2025, nearly 100 officers, workers and machinery systems of the 12th Army Corps, Ministry of National Defense still operated as usual. Along with the construction of the substructure, bored piles for the bridge foundation, the dismantling of the old bridge to clear the ground for the construction of the new bridge was also urgently and drastically implemented. Thanks to the implementation of the "3 shifts, 4 crews" construction plan, there were always people working on the project, and at night the lights were bright across a stretch of the river. The collective of contractors, from the commander, engineers, mechanics, and workers, were determined to stick together and welcome Spring at the construction site.
Representative of the Phong Chau Bridge Project Construction Command Board, Lieutenant Colonel Nham Manh Don - Deputy Director of Truong Son 9 Management Board, Truong Son Construction Corporation, Ministry of National Defense said: When Tet comes, everyone wants to reunite with their loved ones. However, promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", continuing the tradition of the heroic Truong Son Army Group 559, especially because the project's completion progress is calculated in days, the brothers have to work through Tet to fulfill their promise to the Party and State leaders, investors and society. Up to now, we have completed the bored pile drilling for the T0, T1, T2 pillars; carried out the concrete construction of the bridge girder, and focused on dismantling and cleaning the remaining bridge section. Currently, the unit is mobilizing maximum human resources and means, focusing on implementing the construction organization of "3 shifts", "4 shifts", working through Tet, striving to shorten the project completion progress to ensure the quality of the project to soon connect the traffic network in the area, creating the most favorable conditions for people to travel between the two sides of the river, connecting Tam Nong district with Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province with neighboring localities; contributing to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the area.
Mr. Dinh Quang Tuan, a worker from Ninh Binh province, said: As a key and urgent project, we have always received thoughtful support and enthusiastic guidance from the local government and people, which has given us more motivation to complete our tasks. Every day, witnessing long lines of people and vehicles passing by the pontoon bridge, we understand the desire of the people here to soon have a new Phong Chau bridge. We always encourage each other to overcome all difficulties to complete the bridge soon, shortening the project's completion schedule.
Hoang Van Hanh, a crane operator, confided: Having been involved in the road and bridge industry for more than ten years, celebrating Tet at the construction site has become familiar, and his relatives have gradually sympathized with his own profession. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, requiring the contractor to work continuously in 3 shifts a day, so there are no days off, holidays, or Tet. Although they cannot enjoy a family reunion like many others, the officers, soldiers, engineers, and workers who stay at the construction site still have small joys. "We also organize banh chung wrapping, buy fruits to worship our ancestors, and celebrate Tet together right at the construction site. We don't have relatives around us, but we have teammates and local authorities, so the days of celebrating Tet together at the construction site are very warm," Hanh confided.

Talking to Phu Tho Newspaper reporter, comrade Bui Tan Nghia - Vice Chairman of Viet Tri City People's Committee said: The road project connecting Hung Vuong Street through Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Phu Dong Street to Au Co Street has a length of 3.76km, roadbed width of 27m (of which road surface width is 15.0m, sidewalk width is 6.0mx2=12.0m), designed according to the standards of main streets in the area, passing through 3 communes and wards of the city: Van Co, Van Phu and Phuong Lau, with a total investment of more than 449.9 billion VND. After more than 2 years of construction, up to now, the site clearance (GPMB) of 3.56/3.76km has been completed, the contractor is constructing on the entire cleared area. In particular, the roadbed has basically been formed along the entire route; weak soil treatment has been carried out in areas passing through low-lying fields and swamps; K95 foundation construction, completed the expansion and extension of the bridge across Nguyen Tat Thanh Street; currently constructing drainage items along the road, across the road, technical trenches... Along with speeding up the road construction progress, we will continue to build and complete the planning, especially land use planning, urban planning; review and adjust planning projects to ensure investment attraction and organize project implementation, contributing to expanding the city's urban space according to regulations.

Winning the bid for the package from Au Co dyke to Nguyen Tat Thanh street, which is also the most difficult package to construct on the route because the geology is mostly low-lying fields and swamps, requiring a lot of time and effort to treat the weak ground, but with the determination to exceed the schedule to welcome the Party Congress at all levels, the joint venture of contractors Truong Thinh Company - Toan Thinh Company mobilized maximum means, machinery, and workers, exceeding the construction bidding documents.
Mr. Tran Minh - Technical Officer of Truong Thinh Company said: As a key project of the city, we have received the attention and maximum support from the authorities at all levels for the project to pass through. However, the most difficult thing is that the construction site is mostly ponds, swamps and low-lying fields with alternating rice and fish crops, and weak ground treatment takes a lot of time. Especially, this area is also the low-lying area of the city, every time it rains, water from everywhere flows in and floods the construction site, it takes at least 3-4 months a year to do it haphazardly because of unfavorable weather. However, the most difficult part is site clearance and weak ground treatment, which has now been completed. The city has created all favorable conditions for the contractor to carry out the construction, so we need to take advantage of these advantages to speed up the progress and make up for the bad weather. Before the Lunar New Year holiday, the Company strives to complete the horizontal culvert; The roadbed and road base are expected to reach about 70% of the volume. In addition, the Company will spread stones at the beginning of the route to ensure traffic safety for people traveling during Tet.
As one of the packages with fast progress, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, in charge of organizing the construction of Hoan Nguyen Company, a joint venture with Truong Thinh Company and Toan Thinh Company, said that the unit is currently focusing on human resources to speed up the progress before returning home for Tet holiday. The company regularly encourages employees to overcome difficulties, strive to complete assigned tasks well, return home to celebrate Tet with their families and return to the construction site early in the new year.
Clarifying the progress of the project, Mr. Dang Manh Hung - project manager of the Viet Tri City Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board said: Identifying this as a key traffic project, of great significance in connecting trade and developing the economy - society, right from the start of construction, the Project Management Board of Investment and Construction of Works identified and considered ensuring progress and quality as a political task, focusing resources, closely directing and operating. Currently, the bidding packages are focusing on human resources to speed up the progress, ensuring the completion of the work before letting workers go home to celebrate Tet with their families. In particular, the section from Au Co dike to Phu Dong street and the section from Bo Luong dam to Nguyen Tat Thanh street (1.6km long) has completed the K95 roadbed, is in the process of paving the road surface and completing the longitudinal drainage system. The section from Bo Luong dam to Nhoi bridge is in the process of treating weak soil. The section from Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to Hung Vuong Street is 600m long, the unit is focusing on completing the excavation and embankment of the cleared section (400m) before Tet. As for the intersection with Hung Vuong Street, there are still 200m of uncleared land. The Project Management Board is focusing on completing the infrastructure of the resettlement area to hand over the land to the households that have to relocate after Tet to implement the project. We will resolutely direct the Contractor, at the same time closely and regularly coordinate with the locality to immediately resolve any problems related to land clearance, at the same time remove arising procedures, concentrate machinery and human resources to speed up the construction progress. In particular, we must construct the project with the highest quality, strive to complete it by May 2025, put the entire project into use, celebrate the 135th birthday of Uncle Ho and welcome the City Party Congress, and finish 7 months ahead of schedule compared to the contract.
Along with the Phong Chau bridge project, the road connecting Hung Vuong Street to Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Phu Dong Street to Au Co Street (Viet Tri City)..., across the province, hundreds of large and small projects are gradually taking shape, demonstrating the attention of the Party and State to the development of the locality.
