This Lunar New Year, more than 2,500 poor households in Ha Tinh feel more warm-hearted when welcoming the new spring in houses built from the humane policies of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the joint efforts and contributions of the social community.
Warm homes from the Relief Fund
In the bustling atmosphere of the last days of the year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong (born in 1953) and her daughter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan (born in 1983), residing in Minh Dinh village - Tan Lam Huong commune (Thach Ha) are preparing essential items, cleaning and decorating the new house to welcome Tet.
This year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong's family (far right) celebrated Tet in their new house.
Carrying a red flag with a yellow star solemnly hung in front of her house, Mrs. Phuong shared: “Every year during Tet, my mother and I dream of having a spacious house, a place to celebrate Tet properly, but it is too difficult to do so. This year's Tet is different, thanks to the Party and the State, my family has a new house to celebrate Tet. Nothing can describe our joy and happiness at this moment.”
Sharing the joy of celebrating Tet in a house that was recently inaugurated, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duc (residing in Ha village - Thach Ha commune - Ha Tinh city) happily said: "When I heard the news that I received 70 million VND in support from the provincial Relief Fund to build a new house, I was extremely happy. Now, when I am about to celebrate the first Tet in my new house, I still cannot believe it is true. The attention of all levels and sectors has brought us poor people a warm Tet and a stable life in the future."
Ms. Phuong and Mr. Duc's families are two of 757 families benefiting from the policy of the Standing Committee of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee on the plan to use nearly 53 billion VND from the Provincial Relief Fund to build solid houses for poor, near-poor, and extremely disadvantaged households in areas frequently affected by natural disasters throughout the province.
Immediately after the policy was approved and issued, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels closely coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to review, start construction, and complete documents to disburse funds; at the same time, regularly closely monitored and inspected to ensure that the project was built on schedule and met safety and technical requirements.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung attended the inauguration ceremony of housing for poor households in Cam Xuyen district.
As one of the localities allocated a large number of houses from the Relief Fund, up to now, 150 households of Ky Anh district have been handed over houses, ready to welcome the new year in spacious houses.
Mr. Ngo Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ky Anh district said: "With the active participation of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and organizations, the locality has completed the policy on schedule, ensuring quality. It is even more meaningful when those projects are completed in time for the people to celebrate Tet and enjoy spring. This is also an effort to contribute to the successful implementation of the goal of basically completing the consolidation of houses for poor households, near-poor households, households with meritorious services, and households in difficult circumstances in the area in 2023".

According to a report from the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, in nearly half a year since its implementation, localities across the province have completed 757 houses for poor, near-poor, and extremely disadvantaged households in areas frequently affected by natural disasters from the Relief Fund. The allocation was carried out publicly, transparently, and to the right subjects, contributing to strengthening the trust of all classes of people in the political system.
Caring for housing for the poor from socialized sources
In addition to the warm houses built from the provincial Relief Fund, all levels and sectors have also flexibly mobilized social resources to create more housing for the poor.
Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Trung Dung and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai handed over new houses built with funds mobilized by the Ministry of Public Security to people in Huong Khe district.
Joining hands with Ha Tinh province to implement social security policies, in June 2023, the Ministry of Public Security launched a program to support the construction of 1,000 houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties in the province from mobilized sources, calling on BRG Group and SeABank to sponsor funds.
Receiving this joy, Ha Tinh has established a steering committee and issued many documents to promptly implement the policy. Localities and related units have been assigned clear and specific tasks, implementing the right subjects, ensuring progress and efficiency. To date, the program has completed the handover of 1,000 houses to households for use.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Cu and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Chau are happy to celebrate Tet in their new, spacious house.
Delighted to move into a house sponsored by the Ministry of Public Security before the New Year, Mr. Nguyen Minh Cu (born in 1963) and his wife Nguyen Thi Chau (born in 1964) - residing in Bac Trung Son village - Gia Hanh commune (Can Loc) shared: "This year's Tet, not only do we have a spacious and warm place to live, we also get to welcome leaders from all levels, sectors, and neighbors to join in the fun. This gift has great meaning, fulfilling my family's lifelong wish for a place to live."
With the motto "State support - Community help - People build houses", in 2023, the "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee of Duc Tho district chaired and coordinated to call for resources to build new and upgrade houses for 150 households in especially difficult circumstances.
This spring, the Tet holiday of the poor throughout the countryside of Ha Tinh will be warmer and more joyful in houses imbued with the love of the Party and the people.
Mr. Bui Ngoc Nhat - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Tho district said: “Up to now, 150 solidarity houses of 2023 have been handed over and put into use. This result is the effort of the entire political system, contributing to creating trust in organizations, businesses, and philanthropists. This is also the basis for the locality to continue mobilizing resources to build houses for the poor in the following years, gradually improving the criteria for residential housing, contributing to Duc Tho soon achieving the title of advanced new-style rural district”.
The houses of great solidarity have been built from the humane policies of the Party and the Government, from the spirit of sharing of all classes of people. This spring, the Tet holiday of the poor throughout the countryside of Ha Tinh will be warmer and happier in the houses imbued with the Party's love and the people's love.
The tradition of solidarity and mutual love has always been promoted by the Party Committee, the government, and all classes of Ha Tinh people. The wise leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the government; the joint efforts of the social community have helped the poor have stable housing, work with peace of mind, contribute to the socio-economic development, and protect security and order at the grassroots level. This is also an important result contributing to Ha Tinh effectively implementing the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind".
