World pepper price today:
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,773 USD/ton; the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,272 USD/ton.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper was at USD 6,400/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper remained stable at USD 8,700/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper reached USD 11,200/ton.
Today, Vietnam's black pepper price is trading at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,800 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,500 USD/ton.
Recently, Binh Phuoc province has recorded significant progress in growing organic pepper, with many farmers successfully converting. Organic production brings high productivity, good quality and environmental protection, contributing to enhancing the position of Binh Phuoc pepper.
In major pepper growing areas such as Loc Ninh and Bu Dop, organic pepper gardens are green, yielding higher yields and selling prices. Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Chairman of the Farmers’ Association of Loc Hiep Commune, said organic farming has helped improve people’s income and quality of life.
To maintain and develop this model sustainably, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Anh, Chairman of the Farmers’ Association of Loc Ninh District, emphasized the importance of promoting and supporting farmers. Organic pepper products need to ensure quality, contributing to building and protecting the “Loc Ninh Pepper” brand in the market.
In the first nine months of 2024, Brazil exported 49,367 tons of pepper, earning $206.4 million. Although the export volume decreased by 15.3% compared to the previous year, the value increased by 15.8% thanks to the increase in selling prices.
The US continues to be the world's largest pepper importer. By the end of August, the country had imported 63,295 tons, up 37% compared to 2023, accounting for nearly 92% of the total expected imports for the year. Vietnam is the main supplier to this market with 49,277 tons, followed by India, Indonesia and Brazil.
The average import price of pepper into the US was 4,849 USD/ton, up 5.7% over the previous year. Of which, the price of pepper imported from Vietnam increased by 8.4%, reaching 4,774 USD/ton, while the price from India and Indonesia increased slightly, and the price from Brazil decreased.
