On March 25, the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province responded to Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper regarding the settlement of petitions and proposals for temporary operation of 4-wheel electric vehicles carrying tourists by businesses in Lam Dong province.

Lam Dong Province Department of Construction said that from February 15, 2025, four-wheeled motor vehicles will only be allowed to operate on roads with signs indicating a maximum speed of 30 km/h for all vehicles. The provincial People's Committee is responsible for organizing inspections and closely monitoring the schedules, times and scope of operation of four-wheeled motor vehicles in accordance with the provisions of law.
Because Da Lat city does not have any roads with signs indicating a maximum speed of 30km/h for all types of vehicles, four-wheeled passenger vehicles must stop operating from February 15.
To address the petition of two electric vehicle operating enterprises, the Department of Transport (now under Construction) held meetings with representatives of relevant departments and units.
Based on the results of the meetings, the Department of Construction is submitting to the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee for consideration to place speed limit signs under 30km/h on some sections and routes around Xuan Huong Lake so that 4-wheel electric vehicles can transport tourists according to a suitable plan, without causing traffic congestion in the area.
Thus, after more than a month of having to stop operations under the direction of local authorities, up to now, 2 electric vehicle operating businesses with 75 vehicles have not yet determined the date of resumption of operations and are waiting for the decision of the Provincial People's Committee related to the above issue.
Electric tourist cars in Ho Chi Minh City are temporarily operating from March 14.
