Implement multiple solutions
According to the Urban Management Department of Hai Duong City, the city has surveyed and built a database system of trees and lighting using computer files. From this system, the authorities manage, review, update, replace, and maintain regularly.
To contribute to creating a green living environment and increasing the average green tree ratio, the city has implemented many projects to supplement, invest in renovating and replacing the green tree system on the roads and in residential and urban areas. Typical projects include replacing trees on the following roads: Truong Chinh, Hoang Ngan, An Dinh, Thanh Nien, Le Thanh Nghi, Thong Nhat, Nguyen Luong Bang, Ngo Quyen, Quyet Thang...
In the period of 2021-2024, the city has inspected technical infrastructure and accepted many residential and urban areas in the area such as: Thai Binh riverside ecological urban area (Ecoriver), Ha Hai ecological urban area, Phu Quy urban area (Goldenland) phase 1, Ngoc Chau ward residential area, commercial housing area at Hai Duong railway station; subdivision A of the project of Commercial - Tourism - Cultural Area and new urban area in the west...
Through inspection, the city has recommended that project investors replace and plant trees of certain species in accordance with the city's orientation to create uniformity and ensure urban aesthetics.
Along with the budget, the city has mobilized social resources and encouraged businesses to sponsor trees for planting. Most recently, Thanh Dong Real Estate Joint Stock Company sponsored 200 sang trees; NewLand Company sponsored 60 sang trees planted on Truong Chinh Street; Nam Cuong Hanoi Group Joint Stock Company sponsored tree planting at Truong Thinh flower garden. Hai Duong City People's Committee linked the planting of new trees with the cutting down of old, old, and unsuitable trees.
In recent times, Hai Duong City has invested in and renovated the public lighting system. Up to now, the city has completed the renovation and replacement of the lighting poles on Bach Dang, Hoang Ngan, An Dinh, Nguyen Luong Bang, Hong Quang, Thanh Nien, Tran Hung Dao streets; undergrounded low-voltage power lines on Bach Dang, Tran Hung Dao, Hoang Hoa Tham, Thanh Nien streets and is currently undergrounding low-voltage power lines on Tran Phu and Bui Thi Cuc streets.
Hai Duong City has directed the replacement of old light bulbs with LED bulbs, and the renovation of the lighting system in residential areas and alleys according to a model implemented by the state and the people. In which, the people will spend money to buy bulbs and materials, and the state will spend money to install and operate the lighting system.
According to the Management Board of Basic Construction Investment Projects of Hai Duong City, in recent years, the renovation and development of green tree and lighting systems has also been implemented in basic construction investment projects of the city and wards and communes; and urban embellishment works.
Developing green trees and lighting systems
With many implemented solutions, Hai Duong City has achieved positive results in renovating and developing the green tree and lighting system.
According to Vice Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee Tang Van Quan, the management of trees and lighting in the city has become more scientific and strict. The city has selected a list and species of trees suitable for planting. The quality of urban trees has clearly changed. The addition of flowering trees contributes to creating aesthetics, highlights, and harmonious and balanced urban architecture. The process of replacing the lighting system has contributed to improving the quality of urban lighting and using high-performance, energy-saving lighting products. Thereby, contributing to the completion of the goal of building a green - smart - friendly - safe urban area.
According to statistics from the Urban Management Department of Hai Duong City, up to now, there are about 62,000 trees of all kinds in Hai Duong City (not including trees planted in spring this year). Of which, the number of newly planted urban trees (from 3 months to less than 2 years) is more than 20,000 trees; nearly 14,000 trees in residential areas and new urban areas; nearly 7,000 trees planted in projects and works using public investment capital...
In addition to preserving traditional trees, the city has streets planted with trees with their own characteristics such as Truong Chinh Street with the yellow color of Osaka flowers, Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue with white Bauhinia flowers, Thanh Nien Street with the purple color of Lagerstroemia flowers... Up to now, the urban green tree ratio of the whole city has reached 15.22 m2 /person, exceeding the target set by the Hai Duong City Party Congress and exceeding the criteria for the green tree ratio of type I urban areas.
In the public lighting system, Hai Duong City currently has nearly 13,000 LED bulbs, accounting for more than 60% of the total number of bulbs in the city, an increase of about 40% compared to 2020. The rate of lighting electricity in the city is more than 80%, basically meeting the requirements of light intensity, beauty and energy saving. The city strives to have all streets and alleys have lighting by the end of 2025.
In the coming time, Hai Duong City aims to continue improving the quality of planning and implementation towards developing a green, smart, friendly, safe urban area, creating highlights for the urban landscape. In particular, it will continue to invest in and renovate the green tree and lighting systems on many roads and streets, contributing to improving the quality of life of the people and building Hai Duong City a livable city.
